I agree with crazycellist973...French music from this time never submits to over-expression. It is always measured, subtle, and suggestive...never sentimental.
This sounds like a good duo! In the opening theme however, the cellist uses a directness in his playing that would be desirable if playing the opening of the Lalo cello concerto, but I feel it does not work for the piece. Maybe work towards a sweeter approach to the sound?
this is one of my favourites by Faure, ive never heard it played fast, (especialy on harp, that must be a challenge?) it sounded great but why did you choose to play it so fast? (not that theres anything wrong with that !! )
The harpist must be pedalling away like crazy - not an easy piece for the harp! Although a harpist, I have always played this on the piano whilst accompanying a flute
I am very used to accompanying this piece played by either violinists or flautists for exams. It is good to hear it played on cello and harp thus creating a very different soundworld.
They were terrific! Wow they have talent...

Absolutely beautiful...the harp and cello are 2 of my most favorite instruments, and these two play them quite well! :) Thank you for posting this!

Just perfect!
I honour this couple to perform this music so beautifully. I am sure even Mr. Faure would have put a hand on their shoulder!

Very pretty. The harp adds lightness and the cello gives emotion and intensity. Great tones. I'm using this as guidance =)

the harpist is superb, and the cellist keeps it tightly together!
