But again, there are details you didn't tell us, for instance, what were your social conditions up to the age of 16, how were you raised and who raised you, where did you get get money for school and how did you support yourself while in school, what gave you motivation...there are a host of things that determine what you achieve and your ancestors(at least parents and grand parents) and community are part of them.

In the same way, I wish to remind you that the US practiced white affirmative action for 400 years. For hundreds of years, people of color were denied upward mobility in jobs. They were confined to farming with no prospect of any other opportunity. More over, the program itself is still far from doing what it was meant to do.
Hopefully this will prove that Katrina, while devastating, will be a good thing for New Orleans in the long run. Those who have the ability to rebuild will do so, while a LOT of the human debris that made up the population of New Orleans, the useless people who lived off government welfare checks, either got permanently relocated or just died. My issue with this video is that it highly exaggerates the significance that looting played in post-Katrina New Orleans. It has been stated over and over again that the reports of looting in New Orleans were highly exaggerated on the news, but it's these images that stick with us. Most of the looting that I have heard of personally were in the months following and were mostly carried out by migrant workers and contractors.

In New Orleans, nothing got washed away. Because of this you had a large amount of area that was being maintained by an inherently broken police department. Plus, studies of the media response to Katrina have shown that the looting was not nearly as common as was reported.
It's actually amazing how many looters you saw after this hurricane. After the natural disaster in my country, there were only two arrests related to looting.
And that's not because the police were busy looting, like they were in America.
@92benno92 The police in this video technically weren't looting. They had permission from the department to gather clothes and shoes for their fellow officers. This was necessary since most officers were getting their clothes soaked on a daily basis and lacked the means to wash them.

Within a week I recieved a denial letter stating I wasn't qualified due to Equal Opportunity. Those who have the ability to rebuild will do so, while a LOT of the human debris that made up the population of New Orleans, the useless people who lived off government welfare checks, either got permanently relocated or just died. My issue with this video is that it highly exaggerates the significance that looting played in post-Katrina New Orleans. It has been stated over and over again that the reports of looting in New Orleans were highly exaggerated on the news, but it's these images that stick with us. Most of the looting that I have heard of personally were in the months following and were mostly carried out by migrant workers and contractors.

In New Orleans, nothing got washed away. Because of this you had a large amount of area that was being maintained by an inherently broken police department. Plus, studies of the media response to Katrina have shown that the looting was not nearly as common as was reported.

@92benno92 The police in this video technically weren't looting. They had permission from the department to gather clothes and shoes for their fellow officers. This was necessary since most officers were getting their clothes soaked on a daily basis and lacked the means to wash them.
