Yeah sorry, but I'm gonna help give that lightsaber a handle...
This doesn't sound or feel right. I keep expecting it to feel chilling or triumphant, but all I keep hearing is a note that sounds completely wrong. It sounds less like a pianist engrossed in his art and more like someone who does NOT know how to play piano fumbling for the right keys for the melody. I'm sure that's not the case, and that time and effort was put into this version, but it just isn't working...
It's not an unique idea to recycle parts and ideas throughout movie soundtracks. John Williams did a lot of it, and the result is that the Star Wars soundtrack has a feeling of continuity to it.
I have enjoyed this very much. It is both an excellent performance and arrangement. Though, I am wondering, because I am not entirely sure, but i though that I heard a phrase of Anakin's Dark Deeds around 1:50 and 2:50.
Life sucks now, I wish I could go back in time to the 90's because everyone was happier back then and every family was doing something together. Now every family is separated because of divorce and technology is taking over peoples' lives.
I have to love the way you put "order 66" into this masterpieces.. Especially the first time you hear Roe, (if thats her name) play it.. You only hear a small part of it, and simply want more.
During the video all these midichlorians started pouring out of the screen and the midichlorians started filling my office floor and my coworkers were getting pissed yet really suddenly clairvoyant and able to see their kids at school and their dogs at home sleeping it was sooo weird; then we called the septic service and had them get syphon this stuff out, they're all, "we charge extra for midichlorian drainage", which was the wrong thing to say given the Jedi onslaught we gave them afterwards.
I feel like I should mention that Herbert Spencer orchestrated this piece for the movie. John Williams only gave him a sketch and then Spencer had to orchestrate and arrange it for the symphony. Not taking any credit away from Williams. Just making a point. And I'm sure that all the makers of this video were trying to say is that they made the arrangement for this piece. Nothing more.
They composed the arrangement; that is what they are saying. They did not compose the pieces where they got the motives, nor did they ever claim to. If you read the information bar, you'll see that they give John Williams his credit for creating these pieces.
This is one of those amazing songs that you grow up with, and it keeps becoming more and more embellished and beautiful. However, you both put even MORE emotion into the song than those who have rendered it after John Williams. Thanks for such a moving translation!
Even though I am a SW fan, I was moved to tears at hearing this. I watched as each pianist felt and held each moment of the movements. That is a great accomplishment, and should not be taken lightly. I applaud the performance.
If the 1st impression was virtuous, this one is moving.
Under the Force theme you put something which stays in the middle between the theme of Luke losing his uncle and aunt, and the theme of Anakin losing his mother, both on Tatooine. Suffering for losing the beloved ones as the greatest temptation to the Dark Side. The heart of Star Wars.
That was so beautiful, such passion. Arranged so well.. The way the main theme hides there, and fades in and out... love the classic to starwars notes that run up and down, it captures the 'spacey theme'... I am speechless!
They are the official judges. They have their hawk-eyes on the score and if so much as 1 note is played incorrectly, the performance is stopped and teh performers are carried off the stage into an isolation chamber.
I heard it. This is great stuff. I'm a pianist myself, and have played alot of the themes by ear over the past 30 yrs., and appreciate the arrangements going on here. These need to be recorded in a studio and mass-produced, seriously. Great job and fantastic musicianship, both of you!
@arshdeep125 and @sharkyjay I also heard Anakin's Dark Deeds too. May the force be with you all and it's such a beautiful peace thumbs up if you agree
if you read their bio, they actually replaced john williams for a concert series at julliard. I'm sure that they had it all cleared and okayed by john williams.

The question is not that human believe in magic, the question is that human beings need to believe in magic.
l00k4truth 1 year ago
@l00k4truth I think the better question is WHY do we need to believe in magic?
messrsmoony 1 year ago
@messrsmoony The answer is because our brain is made to connect two or more points. A rare noise in
the desert could mean an enemy. A big universe could mean other
civilizations. Our brain works to understand the enviroment and when there
is not a logical answer, we invent it. We don't get on well with ignorance. That's why some people believe in magic.
