Of course people like different stuff, you'd have to be some sort of slack jawed ludite with a serious paranioa problem to think otherwise. Music is art, and art can be valued based on it's formal and expressive qualities, saying that music is only worth what people feel about it is the stupidest thing ever. The recent Nickelback albums score very low in expressive and formal qaulities, there is no escaping from that fact.

People like Jack White (and Meg), Beck (when he's working with live instrumentation), the Black Keys (I'm still new to them), and so fourth. John Frusciante, for example, formerly of Red Hot Chili Peppers, is the closest thing I've seen to Hendrix and Page, seriously. His solo albums are better than RHCP, imho.
