Why does it always have to be an argument about whether MMA or boxing is superior. They're both fun sports to watch and they require a great amount of skill and talent.
Thats a silly argument. How can these younger fighters be great before they have the chance to prove it? Guys like Andre Ward, Amir Khan, Saul Alverez are all young and show great promise. There are many others coming through the ranks.

after the fight with ortiz, i had gained respect for berto. even though he lost when he was the favorite, even though i thought he was fighting too many bums and he was being protected, even though i never thought he had fully proven himself... after the fight-of-the-year-caliber fight he had with ortiz, i respected him more, regardless of the loss..
BUT... when he started insinuating that ortiz was on ped's/roids/etc with absolutely no proof... that's where i lost totalrespect for him...

But the thing is boxing is also an element in MMA. In other words, MMA includes boxing.
The effective techniques in boxing are already being incorporated in MMA.
For me MMA is like the English language in a sense that it keeps swallowing the useful stuff from other disciplines.
