@Nowak98765 They switched the runway and he was the first one to depart to the other direction. It is the same plane that left the stand right in front of the camera.
London's City Airport reminds me of our old city airport... The Meigs Field was here in Chicago years ago. We had corporate jets that came into the city.. That was cool. This is nice too...
Since there was a wind direction change at the time, it might've backtracked to the opposite runway from its holding position of the runway it was going to takeoff on.
All the aviation saddos cooing over this law breaking, corrupt airport that makes the lives of those in the vicinity, and under it's flight paths over E & SE London an utter misery.
I moved to my area to escape noise - since they changed the paths, it's like I'm at the end of the runway.
Should never have been built, and run by the most corrupt management in the aviation industry,
When the airport opened, the Dash 7 was the only turboprop aproved to fly into LCY. And Eurocity Express and Brymon were the only carriers operating.
22 years later, airplanes like the Bae 146, ATR42, ATR72, EMB 145, 135, Fokker 50m etc, and airlines like Lufthansa, Air France, FlyBe, Aer Lingus, Aer Araan, VLM, Luxair, Swiss, etc. are flying into this airport.
You don't need me to tell you how young the airport is - it's a matter of public record. The airport was opened in 1987, when I was quite young.
They promised us QUIET turbo-prop planes; it was a STOLPORT - short take off and landing, for the uneducated. Since then, they have increased the flight numbers from 30,000 a year, to over 120,000. That's why I, and others, are pissed off - both with ill-informed twats like you, and the LCA itself. Learn a bit, before you open your ill-informed mouth.
Well, mr Murphy from the States or mr Ali from Uzbekistan - whoever you are, you're just very silly, and I can't be arsed to say any more. Thanks for your enlightening comments about the LCA.
London has 5 main airports. London City Airport is in the very centre of London but due to it's short runway and steep take off and approach due to tall buildings nearby and a very strict noise policy it is restricted to smaller aircraft. London's main airport is Heathrow which is to the west of the City.
If you lived as close to LCA as I do, then you'd know that they DON'T have a very strict noise policy; that's why we have constantly objected to its expansion. cheers, Les.
I think maybe you're the ARSEHOLE, panictactics; an uninformed one at that. I moved here in 1962, the airport was foisted on us in 1987 - so whats your point, other than showing everyone that you haven't a clue what you're talking about? Les

1908FR12. You wouldn't think it good if you lived 500 yards away from it as I do! The vid's cute enough, but live with it 24/7 and you'd end up like us in Newham - pissed off!
Yeah that is a cool vid, could do with some music on it tho. I love the planes waiting for a parking space, like a well oiled machine! The age of those vehicles is nothing compared to the age of most of those planes!
Hey dumb question but how in the heck are they gonna fit a318s there??? its already small with the BA146 and that green aerlingus jut lagged at the gate the whole time!!
I know I am in your picture somewhere! I worked for KGS, and still think of the place as my second home althro I now live in Thailand. Even thro you have speeded it up I remember we sometimes had to work at that pace! and of course, theres Aer lingus, Swiss air, VLM, Scot air,Lufthansa, City jet,KLM, Air france and ( I can't remeber that other company handled by thre other agent!!LOL) But the Aer lingus had the best breakfast! We had some good laughs!
London City is probably my favourite airport. I also live under the flightpath. Flown out of there quite a few times, and it's fascinating seeing it at that speed.
I can't really believe how busy EGLC is, I spent a day at the ExCeL centre and I could hear only the planes all day!
