If I am not mistaken this the first duet of Hemant Kumar & Lata Mangeshkar. It became super hit. C. Ram Chandra was the composer of this film. He created such tunes that are still popular. My favourite song. 21-12-2010
most beautiful song of its era and you both sang very beautifully in honey voice except that starting verses missing may be due to recordist.
anyway doesnt matter still enjoying well. congratulations to verma saheb. needless to admire you since your appreciation box is overflowing (yet very very nice indeed)
@saz9297 these remarks were for Kusumanjali and Mr. verma who also sang this beautiful song. now your responsibility to convey my sentiments to them on their channel
@juneg1964 "Wake up you 'pain of romance' shake up all hearts and begin your melody of tears. You dozzed off a bit & the world got disarrayed. The earth & the sky went asleep. So went asleep your love"
She-" Whom shall I narrate the tale, whom shall I show scars of my heart. Where shall I go now cos no lamp looks alight even distant..(my) fire has turned into
ash now
Nice melody. Film "Mughal-e Azam' was made on the same theme, which lent this film a fresh lease
the story was penned by Imtiaz Ali Taj in the early 1900s, relating to a building in Lahore called "Anarkali's Tomb". No one knows who this Anarkali really was.
According to Wikipedia "Anarkali (pomegranate blossom) was a legendary slave girl from modern day Lahore, Pakistan. During the Mughal period, she was supposedly ordered to be buried alive by Mughal emperor Akbar for having an illicit relationship with Prince Nuruddin Salim later to become Emperor Jahangir.
Due to the lack of evidence and sources, the story of Anarkali is widely accepted to be either false or heavily embellished.........."
@yuanyuanyuanyin Hello Yuan and TY. Akbar had plenty of illicit relationships himself. So many, that he wondered about his offsprings. Such is the case of him having relationship with Anarkali's mother. That's why he would not let Jahangir marry Anarkali.
All time best duet. Thanks for uploading this almost 50 years old fresh song.
