well for starters Derek Grant wasn't the drummer during the Maybe I'll Catch Fire album. second yes I'm sure I know when they play it faster than the regulars, in this case, Derek adds tons of fills in this song along with many others. And to your other response. Why would you pay to see a band that plays exactly as in the record? you could always assume it's lipsynced, you pay to see a band live, and mistakes are supposed to happen, along with faster songs and that's what makes a concert period

the tempo didn't get screwed up, dude. bands just usually end up playing songs faster live because of the adrenaline of the moment. yes i do play music quite often, and we do sometimes speed up our songs without intending to. also, for another example, look no further than poison the well. after they recorded their cd "the opposite of december" they announced that they had recorded all the songs too fast, and so whenever they play them live, they slow them down accordingly. its not a fuckup
