  • And next year, those states will all go to Ron Paul.

  • around this period of time in 2004, it was Kerry-77 and Bush-66

  • I find it so funny that Obama lost South Carolina which has almost a third black population but in a landslide won Vermont which pretty much has less than 10,000 black people. That just goes to show you how politically polarized the races are in the South.

  • If you do the math on first exit polls out of SC, McCain was supposed to carry the state by a (53% to 46%) margin. The reason why was because McCain won men (56% to 43%) and they both tied among women (50% to 50%). In the final exit polls, Obama carried (26%) of the white vote, which was 3 pts higher than John Kerry in 2004. This state's election results have not been in single digits (54%-45%) since Bill Clinton ran for reelection, in which he lost by 8 pts.

  • LOL @ 0:40

Look at the bottom. Obama leads in Maine with 2 votes to McCain's 1. What happened there? Did the first precinct to report only have three voters in it?

  • 71% of the white vote for McCain and 96% of the black vote for Obama indicates that there is racialized voting in the South. This is why Democrats have a difficult time winning in the South, but the trend will change because of younger voters, higher educated voters, and new people moving to the South.

  • you mean people moving OUT of the south

  • "Let's see, where are the white voters? There they are!" lol
