This may come as a suprise to you, but I'm pretty sure she intended singing the verses as long as she did because thats how she interpreted the song and her version is well done. She stays on pitch, has dynamics, and stays on tempo. People here are saying her saying it slower is indicitive to her singing the song poorly or it being a negative thing. Thats not even that clever anyway.

@TyLover1100 Okay first of all, She doesn't need to do squat. If her intention was to sing it at the temp of the original, then yes it was way too slow. But she sang it that low INTENTIONALLY. That is how she chose to interpret singing the song. People interpret songs and cover songs all of the time by singing them with different.

@SakeMind  So I take music as a university major, and when I saw your comment I showed this to the director of my program who shared it with ALL of the other music profs, as well as vocal performance teachers/coaches, all of whom disagree with you drastically. They all agreed that she has talent, and can tell that she sings properly, rather than forcing the sound out like many young singers today. Not to mention she has great rubato and a natural sense of musicality.

First off, you do have a great voice. Unfortunately, the pacing of the song especially the incredibly slow start showed off your voice but detracted from the performance. Once the chorus started up and picked up pace you seemed to struggle a bit staying on pitch. I definitely encourage you to keep on singing, but doing more with the song to make it original would help make you stand out.
