Even if Akhtar's average pace was lowered to 85 mph, his natural ability to swing the ball away from the right hander and reverse the ball into the batsman, would earn him handfuls of wickets. Take a look at his pitch map, he is extremely accurate for his pace and would be immaculate if his speed was lowered. Shaun Tait - now he is a different story! Even if Akhtar's average pace was lowered to 85 mph, his natural ability to swing the ball away from the right hander and reverse the ball into the batsman, would earn him handfuls of wickets. Take a look at his pitch map, he is extremely accurate for his pace and would be immaculate if his speed was lowered. Shaun Tait - now he is a different story! If that guy was any slower, he would struggle for selection in domestic teams let alone Australia!
