granted a quiet audience is nice, but i'd have a hard time myself if I were there not to whoop and holler with these tastey jams rattling through my bones. I hope this cat gets all the dap he deserves, real music is a dying breed nowadays and this guy knows how to wail out tunes that appease the soul
@thetyleranasaurus That's Nick Curran on Drums! He's a crazy good guitarist and singer. One of the most talented cats in Austin. On bass is Ronnie James Weber who has played with everyone and is currently the bassist for Jimmie Vaughan's tilt o whirl band. They both have their own styles for sure.
no fucking respect....this guy is smashing it and people need to shut the hell up and take notice. He makes them pay attention towards the middle though. Awesome!
It's Antones... if you've never been it gets crowded and no one stays quiet. The music definitly drowns out the background noise.. It's just more noticeable in this video
I love going to see Gary Clark Jr... especially at Antones..
I agree with you robell, it's just hard to shut a whole club up
I saw him when he was 15 yrs old at Jovita's and he was amazing back then. Ever since, I've been catching him every chance I get. Saw him at Saxon Friday night. (Wish he kept his website up to date. Makes it had to be a loyal fan).
Check the Austin Chronicle. Gary is ALWAYS in there, playing at different venues, but you can almost ALWAYS catch him a couple times a month at Antones.
I used to go see Gary Clark play in a dive bar on 6th Street (forget the name - Stubbs? Right next to Logans), and he was a complete kid at that time, but could belt out the blues like it ain't no thang! He's the real-deal! Amazing back then too, when he was too young to drink beer! Gary Clark brings the heat fo' sure!
agreed, nd talking from experiance, it is really relaxing playing at venues when people are behaving like this, i find it brings out the best in my solos. Not 2 mention the fact that these people r paying respect, seeing as how they yell their approval at times.
thank you very much, I've been waiting for some new footage of Gary. I use to check his shows out every chance I got when I lived in Austin. going on a year now and having withdraws......can't wait go get back and catch some good shows.

Just blues, organic, no presertvatives, no additives and so on ...
Just blues the way it should be and the way you can remember it and want to hear it till you die ...
I wish somebody play a CD with this performance on my funeral
God bless your talent Gary

@thetyleranasaurus Youtube Nick Curran, he's playing drums here, but he's a certified motherfucker on guitar in his own right.

If you want to see people standing at polite attention for a musical performance you might wanna hit up an opera instead a blues bar.

Well at a place like Antone's you don't really go to sit quietly and listen. People go out to have fun, which includes talking and drinking, etc.
Honestly I would be more concerned if it were totally quiet in there... people are having fun, partying, that's kinda the whole point. :D
