thats the same with most broadway (ie american) musical performers but lots of the roles he sings in are kind of eccentric or whatever so the accent helps

@LizzyLeggat - I find that Barrowman's voice as a beatifully open, clear, and precise baritone w/ tenor top, is trained in an American musical style. And he performs very well in musicals where his character is an American as compared to a British or other nationality. He has as affinity for Sondheim and Cole Porter especially. And we've seen hiim sing Berstein well on Sound of Musicals. He hasn't had much experience with other European accents or singing in other languages.
