Aishiteru or aishiteruyo means "I love you" in the sense of marriage, kids, happy together forever etc. Daisukidayo is the amalgamation of dai (big) like (suki) and dayo (you) - it's principle meaning is liking someone a lot but is sometime used to describe love in it's early stages. Japanese people don't declare undying love - it's not frowned on, just not embraced either, daisukidayo in substitute of aishiteruyo is deemed as an acceptable trade-off between "I love you" and "I like you a lot."
