@ucanttuchdis5678 wii U is aweful, its graphics that it showed (of zelda) were slightly worse then most 360 games, and we all know that every company who realeases a new consoel alwasy brings out a high def game so the premier makes it look cool, but wii brought out a mediocer looking game, suggesting most games with be below average
ur 360 can easily last 12 hours, at least the slim, can last arround 14 hours no problems, (ive never played more then that) the only time my 360 has ever failed, was 1, on a little scratched just cause 2 has caused it to freeze a few times, and super meat boys 5th map pack always freezes it
Really stupid to say streaming media will replace a disk you can own at your home, instead of constantly paying to re-watch it, and if there is a connection problem, or the service goes down, how are you going to watch the movies then, what if the company can't keep up streaming for a low price, now you're going to pay even more for the service. 1080p video streaming is not the best choice, but downloading the movie down keeps the price down, taking the jobs of the middleman.
Well, they slimmed it down AND fixed the issues, so you can take your MacBook and jump off of a 100 story building. By the way, while the Wii does have graphics worse than my flip phone, the Wii 2 is coming out soon and will be more powerful than the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

I've had 5 Xbox 360's rrod on me and I gave up after that. I haven't had any experience with the newer "slim" 360's, so I can't comment on it. But what I will say is that the return/exchange process was REALLY easy, much like the guy on the left said. I called, they sent me a prepaid shipping box which got there the next day, I sent it off, and a new one came a couple days later. The only problem is that I had to go through that "nice" customer service experience 5 or so times.
I only play 4 hrs tops a day with my 360 slim. Problem with my other two 360 phat, they were used. So it became a problem. I wish I got money though and went ahead and buy myself a PS3. My PS2 is still alive.

I never played marathon sessions on my 360 and even was obsessive enough to keep a fuckin' standup fan pointed on it and kept it an elevated tabletop in the middle of the living room, and took the extra precaution of not buying one until the middle of 2008 after reading that they had redesigned the interiors to curb the problem in 2007. Obviously, that didn't extend to the ARCADE, because mine RRODed. IF i get a new one, it's only bc of all my games and dlc for 360
Actually the issue with most of the new consoles is that people order them and have them shipped to their door. Now that sounds normal however due to the shape and design of the case and internals 90% of the time the issue is that the hard drive has come slightly loose. If that has happened to your system by the way just take the hard drive out the bottom of the console give it a shake and then place it back in. The issue should go away. Also dont listen to people who own macs and alien ware :).

This fail-safe has actually happened to me once or twice since I got my 360 Slim. It just shuts the console off on it's own. Kinda frustrating, I was navigating the menu's and it just turned off. Nifty feature by Microsoft, thank god they fixed the issue.

@caseypotinrs they did install red LED a friend of mine has already sent it back with in a week of him having it boom dead so it can happen they didnt fix anything they just installed a fail safe and red it still gets a red ring of death but this time its not a ring just the middle LED turns red so its more like a red eye of death

Does everyone realize these two don't know too much about what they're saying. The old console would shut itself down when it overheated, and the problem with the new one is actually fixed, as it can't be the same problem, because they changed the layout of the board completely, they put both the GPU and the CPU on the same chip, now this CAN cause other problems, if insufficient cooling is provided, although, I am pretty confident with the new redesign that it is fixed, but if not, PC is there!
We've fixed the old ones and the new ones, there's no difference, just a new chipset. You will see the same issues with the slim 2-3 years from now. Massive failure rate.
mine lasted for 4 half year's before it died it is how you take care of it ppl are stuiped and play it for hour's max time is 2 half hour's cant trun on till after 2 more hour's and have it off the ground so the bottom dont conduct heat
@TheCindy210 it depends on what you call problems really. More technical problems would have to go to 360 due to the RROD issues and overheating junk but they will always send you a better one until u get one that works for you and they are trying to narrow down the problem. The issues with the ps3 you will face is NO cross gaming chat, 99% of the games have no custom soundtracks so you cant listen to music while playing, and the online community and the way it is set up is going to get old.

@NinjaFox1CA ps3 slim has very very low failure rate. Microsoft has released what like 6 models?, 2nd version to get HDMI lol, next to get bigger HDD and by the time they get to slim 6 years later from launch, they finally add built in wifi lol. So if you want bigger HDD, you gotta buy another 360 lol. but with ALL 360 consoles, it has RLOD.....em yeah well worth it. ps3 can run for hours and hours, some people on gt5 have had theres on 32 hours none stop and still runs fine, 360slim 1 hour lol

I also love that I have the privilege of paying $60 for a 20 GB Xbox HDD instead of having to pay the same price for as 500 GB drive for the PS3. There's also the feature of not supporting very many video codecs. And who wants media server features? Pssh. Not me, I'd rather pay tghe same price for something that doesn't do as much. Much better that way.

You have different resolutions of HD. The ones that most modern TV's can display are (from lowest to highest) 720i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p. Both the 360 and the PS3 are capable of outputing as high as 1080p. BUT. The Xbox 360 only outputs as high as 720p when playing a game. The PS3 can output 1080i no matter what. Video codecs are used to decode the video file you are watching.
@DracoAzule a level i can understand? fuck you. dont talk down to me because i dont know about every little fucking thing on a console. and who cares if the 360 only puts out 720p, which im pretty sure it can put out more, it still looks the EXACT same as a playstation when playing a game. only difference is basically contrast. so your also saying my 360 cant decode video codecs? it does it the same as every other system does.
@jollyrogger51 Most PS3 games look the same as the 360 because most PS3 games are also on the 360 so the developers don't put as much time into making it into something more suited for the PS3's capabilities. But go look at the PS3 exclusive games (ESPECIALLY God of War 3) and you'll be able to tell a HUGE difference.
@jollyrogger51 And I'm not saying you're 360 can't use video codecs. It can. That's how it's able to play videos at all. I'm just saying it can't decode as many types of video codecs as the PS3 can. Technically it COULD. That's if Microsoft releases a software update that has those codecs.
Even the PS3 doesn't support all the codecs by itself. But that's why we have PS3 Media Server.
@jollyrogger51 And media streaming is used for streaming your media over your network from your computer. This way you don't have to hassle with copying it over to a USB device before you can play it.
Also this program you can get called PS3 Media Server auto-converts formats the PS3 doesn't support on the fly while streaming so the PS3 can actually play any format out there.
The 360 is just a game console. The PS3 is an even better game console and even more on top of that.
@DracoAzule and the xbox does have media streaming. my computer links with the 360 over windows media center or some other thing. i dont have to copy it to a USB device to play it. and even if it didnt, what hassle is that? it takes like three seconds to copy the songs onto a USB device so who cares. okay the auto format thing is nice, but not every person listens to music while playing. even so, must of us just download by CD. the ps3 and 360 are gaming consoles, no computer. NOTHING more.
@jollyrogger51 Windows Media Player SUCKS for media streaming because then you're just limited to the file types the 360 supports. Use PS3 Media Server (it also works with the 360 though it's designed for the ps3)
Also yea maybe copying music doesn't take long but try that with a 2 GB downloaded movie.
And computers and gaming consoles are the exact same thing. Their processors and operating systems are just optimized differently.
@DracoAzule you dont have to download 2 gb movies using a usb drive, 360 has netflix. they arent the same thing. generally yes, but everything is different. more abilities, more power, the computer itself makes the games for a console. and i have looked at GoW 3, it doesnt look that special. all the games look the same because they are the same. no one puts out more difference. and it doesnt play all codecs? my 360 plays all the new releases just like the ps3, so there is basically no difference

@jollyrogger51 Also I found a 60 GB Xbox HDD at GameStop today. For $90. Wanna know how much I paid for the 500 GB I have in my PS3? $50. Half the price for around 8x the storage capacity. What's really bad is that the Xbox 360 HDD and the technically take the same kind of hard drive. They both take laptop hard drives. Just Microsoft puts them in a plastic case that attaches to the console and only lets you use the horrendously overpriced hard drives they sell while the PS3 will take ANY.

This fail-safe has actually happened to me once or twice since I got my 360 Slim. It just shuts the console off on it's own. Kinda frustrating, I was navigating the menu's and it just turned off. Nifty feature by Microsoft, thank god they fixed the issue.

Does everyone realize these two don't know too much about what they're saying. The old console would shut itself down when it overheated, and the problem with the new one is actually fixed, as it can't be the same problem, because they changed the layout of the board completely, they put both the GPU and the CPU on the same chip, now this CAN cause other problems, if insufficient cooling is provided, although, I am pretty confident with the new redesign that it is fixed, but if not, PC is there!

We've fixed the old ones and the new ones, there's no difference, just a new chipset. You will see the same issues with the slim 2-3 years from now. Massive failure rate.

@TheCindy210 it depends on what you call problems really. More technical problems would have to go to 360 due to the RROD issues and overheating junk but they will always send you a better one until u get one that works for you and they are trying to narrow down the problem. The issues with the ps3 you will face is NO cross gaming chat, 99% of the games have no custom soundtracks so you cant listen to music while playing, and the online community and the way it is set up is going to get old.

Microsoft has released what like 6 models?, 2nd version to get HDMI lol, next to get bigger HDD and by the time they get to slim 6 years later from launch, they finally add built in wifi lol. So if you want bigger HDD, you gotta buy another 360 lol. but with ALL 360 consoles, it has RLOD.....em yeah well worth it. ps3 can run for hours and hours, some people on gt5 have had theres on 32 hours none stop and still runs fine, 360slim 1 hour lol

3) if you aint fussed about exclusives then it's down to number 2. if you want more for your money and like exclusives and features? i would go for ps3.
If you have more friends on 360 then go with 360. if you only want gears 3 and own a pc, wait till it comes out for pc lol.

@jollyrogger51 Yea the 360 is good. I love the fact that it doesn't output in full HD. I also love that I have the privilege of paying $60 for a 20 GB Xbox HDD instead of having to pay the same price for as 500 GB drive for the PS3. There's also the feature of not supporting very many video codecs. And who wants media server features? Pssh. Not me, I'd rather pay tghe same price for something that doesn't do as much. Much better that way.

HD is HD, the console showing it doesnt matter. even if it did matter, its so tiny of a difference, only a Playstation fanboy would notice it. and i admit, the 20gb is small, but i've had it for years and i still have space to spare. who needs 500gb of space anyways? like jesus christ. video codecs? what the fuck is that. media server features? what is half of this shit? guarantee it either doesnt really matter towards anything, or xbox has it.

@jollyrogger51 Let me try to explain this on a level you can understand.
You have different resolutions of HD. The ones that most modern TV's can display are (from lowest to highest) 720i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p. Both the 360 and the PS3 are capable of outputing as high as 1080p. BUT. The Xbox 360 only outputs as high as 720p when playing a game. The PS3 can output 1080i no matter what. Video codecs are used to decode the video file you are watching.

@jollyrogger51 Most PS3 games look the same as the 360 because most PS3 games are also on the 360 so the developers don't put as much time into making it into something more suited for the PS3's capabilities. But go look at the PS3 exclusive games (ESPECIALLY God of War 3) and you'll be able to tell a HUGE difference.

@jollyrogger51 And I'm not saying you're 360 can't use video codecs. It can. That's how it's able to play videos at all. I'm just saying it can't decode as many types of video codecs as the PS3 can. Technically it COULD. That's if Microsoft releases a software update that has those codecs.
Even the PS3 doesn't support all the codecs by itself. But that's why we have PS3 Media Server.

@jollyrogger51 And media streaming is used for streaming your media over your network from your computer. This way you don't have to hassle with copying it over to a USB device before you can play it.
Also this program you can get called PS3 Media Server auto-converts formats the PS3 doesn't support on the fly while streaming so the PS3 can actually play any format out there.
The 360 is just a game console. The PS3 is an even better game console and even more on top of that.

@DracoAzule and the xbox does have media streaming. my computer links with the 360 over windows media center or some other thing. i dont have to copy it to a USB device to play it. and even if it didnt, what hassle is that? it takes like three seconds to copy the songs onto a USB device so who cares. okay the auto format thing is nice, but not every person listens to music while playing. even so, must of us just download by CD. the ps3 and 360 are gaming consoles, no computer. NOTHING more.

@jollyrogger51 Windows Media Player SUCKS for media streaming because then you're just limited to the file types the 360 supports. Use PS3 Media Server (it also works with the 360 though it's designed for the ps3)
Also yea maybe copying music doesn't take long but try that with a 2 GB downloaded movie.
And computers and gaming consoles are the exact same thing. Their processors and operating systems are just optimized differently.

@DracoAzule you dont have to download 2 gb movies using a usb drive, 360 has netflix. they arent the same thing. generally yes, but everything is different. more abilities, more power, the computer itself makes the games for a console. and i have looked at GoW 3, it doesnt look that special. all the games look the same because they are the same. no one puts out more difference. and it doesnt play all codecs? my 360 plays all the new releases just like the ps3, so there is basically no difference

@jollyrogger51 Also I found a 60 GB Xbox HDD at GameStop today. For $90. Wanna know how much I paid for the 500 GB I have in my PS3? $50. Half the price for around 8x the storage capacity. What's really bad is that the Xbox 360 HDD and the technically take the same kind of hard drive. They both take laptop hard drives. Just Microsoft puts them in a plastic case that attaches to the console and only lets you use the horrendously overpriced hard drives they sell while the PS3 will take ANY.

@jollyrogger51 ive had my ps3 slim on and playing god of war 3 for about 22 hours straight record high for me...and nothing hapened, not even a louder fan noise, and i still continue to leave it on to download demos and other good stuff overnight so i can go online during the day....and its on daily for about 3 months now, sometimes i forget to turn it off, and it still works, duno about the 360 though, i thought the new slim 360 would be a huge improvement, but they jus put an auto off....FAIL
