I remember being a small kid and seeing this circus:) My Mom dated Waynes brother Gary for a long time and He let me ride one of the Elephants.. that started my long love of Elephants and my elephant collection... was a day I'll never forget.
Thank you for posting this. I attended the Franzen Bros. Circus as a child in Monroe Michigan and you always knew when this circus was coming because posters where everywhere around. To me the Franzen brothers was the real deal 'Big Top"
Nice job Phil. I remember hanging those posters and taking those photos of you and Rosa in Greenville, Il. in 1983. Hard to believe its been over 25 years. The paul Niebauer photos brought back memories. I still have boxes of photos and circus posters from 1980 thru 85. Thanks. Bill Knox. Woodstock, Il.
Thanks for the memories Phil. My wife and I traveled with Wayne and the show for a couple months during the summer of 1995 in Western IL. I have to say that was one of the best jobs ever. We miss Wayne greatly. I am always looking for memorabilia from the show.
Wayne was a great friend, I miss him very much and his wonderful circus. Thanks so much for putting this slide show together, sure brings back ALOT of memories. I played calliope for him when the show played near my home. He was so wonderful with his animals, he truly loved everyone of them, they always got the best of care., and you could see it in their eyes that they loved him right back! He was a wonderful person and friend.
