Definitely ground better. You can use the house's ground, or like the guy over there said, stick a grounding rod a few feet in the ground.

It sounds like you do not have a good ground. Consider going to Home Depot or Lowes and getting a 8 or 10 foot grounding rod and hammering it into the ground leaving 2-3 inches exposed.

Capacitors are like self charging batteries. Google the lemon battery. You can basically use capacitors as free battery chargers.

the size of the capacitor is unimportant it just stores the charge, you need a tuning circuit to step up the voltage, also make sure you are getting good contact from the plates to the wires

Hi Box, I must point something here. The length of the wire between the plate and the capacitors do have impedance. The capacitance and the impedance do have an oscillating frequency. You could try to calculate this frequency, perhaps there is something related to the atmospheric layers, the frequency of the cosmic ray and frequency you have your circuit tunned to.

The thing is consmic ray frequency is SUPER high its hundreds of terahertz(!). I think we should start at x-ray detector thats the closest frequency to cosmic rays. OR we need to create some kind of electric vacuum to suck that energy from antena... Tuning is the best but who can tune into tereahertz....

Box: You have good points about the "push" needed. However, remember that it is the "difference" in potential that provides the ability to measure the voltage. The "volt" itself is the pump or the push the "coloumbs per every second" also called the current.

im probly making a moronic suggestion but if yer getting good potentials and low current, couldnt u hook the positive electron stream to an electrostatic motor and attatch a dynamo to it to generate usable current/electricity?

I would look at some online weather data for your region and find out if any patterns exsist between your flux potential and atmospheric pressure/ humidity.

And just think, unlike Tesla, we have access to probably hundreds of sources of weather data instantly online, no pain, no fuss.

ohh yes, weather seems like a big player in this devices operation. i find that very intresting, ive been checking out a battery charging circuit, very basic, but it shows how the weather effects output. sometimes it actually pulls the energy back out because theres two diodes on the battery, so sometimes its higher or lower. its weird, but very cool. thanks vaxinius for your intrest in mine and teslas work,
