You should get many sets as possible,just drop them and tell the ghost that you lost them...

So if you lose them you wont have to travel all that again,i got 10 sets of the ghostly...

i just figured out what you (we) were doing wrong. you talked to the wrong ghost. (cuz the same ghost appears at all (3) possible locations. cuz all people dont get the same clues on where the ghost is located. i hope that helps :)
