  • I would give up both my kidneys to sound like Russell. D:

And eventually, die singin' awesome, and well, not having kidneys.

  • awesome vocals O_O

  • am i the only one to think this sounds like Kid Rock's stuff

  • Kind of reminds me of 90's era Kings X in parts.

  • This is so much better than the generic power metal thing he did with Jorn.

  • @felipefrango Generic Power Metal? LOL. Those records are awesome.

  • kInda reminds me of an audioslave song. I love hearing my favorite singers perform outside of their usual genre.

  • This is so fucking good !! It's like making love to music and enjoying every second of it !

  • with more expoosure this song could be massive . Russell Allen is the most underrated person in rock

  • rusell allen it's my inspiration!!!!!!... it's so fucking good!!!

  • Hey its Foreigner! No...Wait! its Russell Allen!

  • wow he sounds really different somehow

  • Man this reminds me of Bad Company.

  • IN QUESTO PEZZO C'E' TUTTO IL SAPORE DEL ROCK ANNI 70.

    FANTASTICO PEZZO

  • Cool shit. Ritchie Kotzen would sound great here. I'd love to see a guest appearance.

  • He should definitely collaborate with Alice in Chains for a couple songs.

  • ARGH awesome! So different from Symphony X, yet awesome...

  • Bioshock cover

  • I want to bang the ever living shit out of Russell Allen.

  • Chorus kicks ass

  • Love Allen's voice since forever. The feel of this song reminds me somewhat of Richie Kotzen's stuff especially the song "Losing my mind", check him out if you don't know who that is :)

  • i kinda dont like the production for this style too polished for my taste

  • sounds like straight up hard rock to me guys....kicks fuckin ass!!!!

  • Russell Allen: Heir apparent to RJD

  • @Dacfu no offence to russell allen im a big fan of his but nobody can compare to the late Ronnie James Dio

  • this ain't prog.. its hard rock with strong blues influence.

    'love this song btw!

  • Good performance... but for ME Russel is better in Allen & Lande album......

  • can't help but think of Glenn Hughes solo stuff. Similar, and just as awesome.

  • Its crazy how this amazing singer is so agile. He can do WHATEVER he wants and this proves it.

  • ..... greatest voice of rock.. progressive AND classic rock.... awesome song...

  • russell allan rocks lol a real mans voice!!! no one compares. FACT!!

  • bah

  • If your not getting this its a tribute to 70's hard rock. This is basically a Paul rogers nod. Many of the songs have Lou Gramm from Foreigners style,

At first I didnt get it. I wanted Symphony X stuff but now I appreciate it .The song arent that great but his vocals are just pure tone.

Its AllensTONE that separates him from all the pretenders. Many guys are about notes but just like a high note sounds like crap coming from a 40 dollar guitar and shit amp--Allen has prime gear in his throat

  • Arruzzo ftw.

  • simple hard rock =]

  • @norcico Simple, pure, powerful, beautiful hard rock. Russell could sing in Bad Company too. The is why I love hard/heavy/prog rock.

  • FOOOOOOOOOODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

escuta a porra da música, caralho!

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r

Symphony X is prog, not power.

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r

He sings on a progressive metal band, not a power metal one.

    And this is Hard Rock

  • @rockjuu

oh ok. i like this side project band of his especially his song loosin' u. he's so versatile

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r Symphony X is NOT power metal... maybe Paradise Lost could be considered that... But they are not a power metal band.

  • @KyleJPie10 I disagree. Symphony X could be power metal, but Paradise Lost is gothic. I think power metal is more close to progressive than gothic. Buy I don´t care if Symphony is power or prog, I love them.

  • @michaelnight67 I find Paradise Lost to have the fast drumming and riffs that power metal has. It's sad to say the the opening to Eve of Seduction sounds like a Dragonforce song... but I love the album regardless. Gothic is more dark. Dream Theaters latest album is a good example of gothic. Gothic is just a subgenre anyway, any dark music could be labeled as gothic.

  • @KyleJPie10 Theres like 3 minutes of the last DT album that could be considered gothic.

  • @ImBradMusic Actually A Nightmare to Remember and The Count of Tuscany are very gothic.

  • @KyleJPie10 Dude no way. Gothic is like Dimmu Borgir kind of stuff. Like epic synth organ chords.

  • @ImBradMusic Gothic is a sub genre of music, therefor, almost anything dark sounding can be labeled gothic.

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r His main band, Symphony X, is technically a progressive metal band

  • This is very good hard blues-rock. Russ is awesome.

  • today i tried to erase myself the physical image of Cornell and Allen, and Allens voice sounds more clear and trained, while i could stilll confuse cornells voice with a Black gospel singer's voice....

  • Yes, Cornell has a much more raw approach to his music than Allen, who I'd bet is more trained (and more versatile).

They're both great vocalists, both incredibly skilled.

  • I don't hear Cornell, I hear Paul Rogers.

  • and also you gotta acept there's some CHRIS CORNELL influence on him...ironic isn't it?

  • i think thats where the argument came from lol

people hear the chris cornell in it

  • Chriss Cornell influence???? cmon man its a tribute to 70's hard rock and his main influenes are Paul Rodgers, Glenn HUghes and Lou Gramm. Chris uses another technique called TWang to add distortion to his voice. Jorn Lande uses that technique as well.

  • dude you gotta accept that russell allen is one of the best singers in the world

  • Nay hes the best

  • You don't have to accept that at all. Though I do, the best singer is entirely subjective.

  • I'd say 'best singer' is about 50% subjective.

Some vocalists are obviously objectively better than others, eg Russell Allen is objectively better than me, but at a point it is certainly subjective.

Russell Allen > Dio = subjective,

Russell Allen > Lady Gaga = objective ;)

  • Not really. Because Lady Gaga is actually a good singer, her skill is fantastic, same with Hayley Williams. Though I dislike both. It's completely subjective as to who people like, otherwise the worlds 'best' singer would always be the one with the most range and the greatest amount of training. Which is not the case. Because style also makes people like a singer more, sometimes great singers don't pick the right style for them ect. I suppose it's what you believe really

  • @Maddolis

Absolutely True but Dio stuffs are a bit different than this.

    i like both

  • I completely agree, they're both great vocalists and don't need to be compared, just both appreciated.

  • @Maddolis i get your point man. But the only objective way to measure or compare is to determine who has more range, and i think Allen has a wider range than Dio, so he sings "better". Altough singing with more range doesnt mean one sings better IMO...in the end its ALL SUBJECTIVE

  • @AnibalRodriguez Wise words my friend. I've certainly changed my mind over the last two years- while I don't care for Lady Gaga's music in the slightest, she is far more talented than most of her contemporaries in the pop world- and as such there were plenty of other examples I probably should've chosen.

But yes, I'm not saying that Russell is better than Dio (nor am I saying the opposite), I think someone felt that way and I was just making a point. Really there's no need to compare.

  • @Maddolis i dont think is subjective, he can sing what ever u want!

  • woah this is not symphony x.

    but still good.

  • thats exactly what i was thinking

cept replace good with amazing haha

  • Reminds me a lot of the Glenn Hughes solo album Soul Mover. good stuff.

  • Play this in HQ... (if not then listen to it in a quite poor way)

  • this is really badly produced, and it's not really prog its classic rock-y

although i love russell allen's voice, amazing singer

  • 5 stars !

  • Very good i always Love Russel, any chance you could put the entire album on here?

  • you could, you know - buy the album

  • Best hard rock/metal in a long long time!

  • fuck soudgarden , russel is a serious singer

  • while russell allen IS a complete boss

    so is chris cornell :\

  • Nobody would miss cornell if Russell were the new Soundgarden's Singer....

    I'm pretty sure

  • YOU ARE SO FUCKING RIGHT MAN!!!

  • Yeah Good all Rocky Blues!!!

  • Rock & Roll, basic bluesy rock & roll.

  • Though not as powerful as his work with Symphony X, Allen's voice still takes the song to soulful highs. Plus to all those who says this song is prog, to me it sounds a little blusey and a little like Whitesnake. Dose any one esle agree with this? BTW I think the song is good no matter what it sounds like.

  • definitely not progressive - still really good, though, especially allen's vocals

  • @paulwall1981 Yeah, it's definitely not prog. Amazing album, though. Allen for prez.

  • @paulwall1981. That would be cool if Allen was ruler of a whole country. We could make listening to music like this law and make poeple grow there hair and also when ever they speak they have to show the devil horns. Would that not be cool? Keep in touch

  • @paulwall1981 Slightly Whitesnakey, yeah. Though, Allen opens his mouth too much to sound like David Coverdale. Coverdale is to music what Sean Connery is to voice! ;)

I really liked Russel Allens work with Arjen Lucasson on the Star One - Space Metal project.

And what I really think this song reminds me of is the entire Deep Purple album "Stormbringer", from 1974. Take "Hold On" as an example.

  • @paulwall1981 defenitly , I recognize the white stripes and bleusy thing aswell. It has a nice awsome bleusy swing to it indeed.

  • russell allen is God!!!!!!

  • awesome...the guitars..rolling...!!

    excellent

  • Great song=)

  • awesome song =) great post Nora

  • awesome
