  • No, the v6 that's available is small enough. The 4.6 northstar isn't really all that big anyway.

  • who wants a small caddie? the ner cts should have tailfins and a big block v8, bring back the tailfins please! and dual headlights, and 400-500+ hp in a big, lazy engine caddies should not be revvy four bangers, they should be relaxed. with tailfins. did i mention tailfins, whats a caddilac without tailfins?

  • yes but with eco friendly turbos

  • In Ireland you can buy a 2lt Turbo Diesel 130BHP and get 50 MPG, You can get 100MPH out of a car like that easy and still have money in your pocket. Fuel costs in Ireland are about $7.90 US and we can afford to pay that kinda money because the cars we drive are so economical.

  • You can drive fast in the us, very fast.

  • there is no use in the us for big engines. hell you cant drive fast unless you live in europe

  • yeah, all the speed cameras in america just ruin everything, huh?

  • Smaller engines would be better because you get better gas milage. The bigger engines would have more power but you can't use it without getting a $500 speeding ticket unless you live germany (I think) where they have that highway where there are no speed limits. They should go with the smaller engines until gas prices drop.

  • Norway i believe

  • so they're saying that people have actually died from the fumes of a new car's interior

  • trust me when you have enough plastic in say.. a new cadillac or any other luxury car you have to get out every 10 minutes to vomit. my dad worked for merc and brought home the extremely advanced s klasse. my sisters golf is far more luxurious plainly because we can breathe.

  • No, just that the off gassing is toxic at some level. If people were dying you'd see it covered life swine flu...

  • people who would buy a caddy want some power.. i say supercharge a smaller v8.. like 4.8 or 5.3

  • deisel gas costs to much in a scare...won't do it.

  • bigger engines.

  • Ok, so a late night drink, lack of sleep, working swing shift, and getting ready to drive tomorrow to go see Tom Petty, and Steve Winwood, might be a contributor to some misspelling, but if I hear one more god damned "Umm, aahh, ya know, sure, blah, blah, blah f_cking blah..... "I don't know the inner workings of Porsche, but they ......... I am the expert......" I have just decided to rethink my opinon about having sensous long lasting licking love making with fat unemployed women from Alabama.

  • WTTF ? Who in the hell are these two dick pukes ? Good god, I spent wht could possibly be the three and a half minutes of my life wondering if the next eleven were going to get better, and then thankfully I was taken out by a bolt of lightening !

  • Awesome!-

  • They guy on the left is at a loss for words. Speak up and say something like you know what you are talking about.

Yes we want smaller engines. Fuck performance, you cant use it legally.

  • no gm should go make economy versions of there cars with smaller engines

  • lol

  • "that dude can drive" hahaha he would know

  • not that i plan on buying a cadillac any time soon, i think a GOOD diesel/turbo diesel would fit in a couple of cars...it'll be interesting if and when they get to the escalade

  • I'm surprised the MK4 Supra didn't make the best resale value list

  • I'm tired of these. Have you even gotten anyone? Jesus. "FUCK MAN I know" which is obviously generic cos its used on every video regardless of what the comments say. Can you just fuck off? Jesus. In fact, I'm going to use these to spam these messages.

  • I want 2 dope boys in a cadillac... (outcast joke) Go diesel.

  • A turbodiesel four would fit nicely in the CTS or Direct Injection Twin Turbo V6 possibly 3.0L.

  • well the caddy should stay caddy let the high winding bastards be japanese

    torque at its best!

  • personally i cant smell the new car scent of bmws. my uncle is a manager of a bmw dealership, and ive been through almost half of them (cleaning the interiors) and i cant tell the difference between a 08 and an 06. they smell the same. Mazda, on the other hand, has a terrific(ly toxic) new car smell.. i love it.. maybe it is addicting after all

  • no if it was a 4 cylinder it would sound horrible. can you imagine the sound of that 4 cylinder in a caddy. i would rather have the 300 hp v6. btw bmw has the best new car smell hands down!

  • If the 4 cylinder was made correctly, it would work fine in a Cadillac. They should also make it lighter.

  • The Caddy doesn't make sense unless they are making a 1 Series competitor. It can't feel cheap, and must feel like a Cadillac. This is something that can not be done with half an effort. No importing, rebadging or platform sharing unless the car becomes a true Caddy.

This car might make a better Saturn, Pontiac or Chevy. A compact, ligth weight and REAR WHEEL DRIVE, turbo four sedan.

BTW, A 4 cylinder CTS would suck.

  • i agree 100% i'm sure they're just doing it for a better MPG since thats what every one cares about now a days.

  • sorry, but is that okay to smoking in public area?

  • I want a 4cyl caddy the same way I want a 4 door porsche.

  • well said

  • I ambiance of the Caddy is "Bigger is better"

  • Yo, matt, smoking is bad for you, I probably sound like a huge dork but you need to kick the habbit. Also I think that Mike is 100% right about the conversion rate and how that translates to cars. Very smart guy.

And for the QOTW- I dont care, cadillac's suck anyway.

  • No I would not buy a Cadalac, if i was given one i would defend it to the hills, but I havent gotten any call from GM.

However if I was going to give GM adavice a high winding 4 would be a mistake, unles you made it silent. A Hybrid would be cool to see, but utimatly a turbo deisel would be best.

  • Cadillac's cars are too heavy to have a smaller engine. I've driven a 2006 CTS with the smaller V6 version several times and it just doesn't a have a kick to it. I can only imagine what a smaller engine will do. I'll have to get out of the car and push it down the freeway. Cadillac needs Lexus-quality hybrid engines like the one in the LS600h. GM execs. should keep Cadillac the ultra-premium brand of GM. Don't make smaller engines; build better ones.

  • The true gull wing is so great, I agree. I hope the new car handles better.

I heard the new car smell is less deadly now, I think.

If Cadillac puts much less powerful engines in their cars (for their weights), they will lose the brand risks losing performance credibility. A V-8 Hyundai Genesis can smoke a new CTS DI, Cadillac had better watch out!

  • sic

  • Here is another price comparison for the Panamera: let´s start with a porsche that already exists in both countries: the gt3. It costs 107,500 US dollars in the US and 80,660 pounds in the UK. Keeping the same rule, than a 60,000 pound car in the UK would cost 79,965 US dollars (x=107,500*60,000/80,660). There you go: a US$80,000 price in the US would be a reasonable assumption.

  • YOOOO put the 2.0 DI turbo ecotec but make it a mild hybrid like the malibu!!!!! that way you keep the city mpg up!!!

  • I cant wait to race, that dude Jason Bannerman, I'm trying to win this thing.

  • Im from Middle East and I will talk about my opinion on Cadillac 4V engine.

I see all kinds of cars from 3V to 12V on the streets But Cadillac got this character of Powerful engines and Stylish Design.

This is an American Car so dont fuck things up by fitting V4 turbo engine!

  • If a US dollar is worth half as much as a UK pound, then wouldn't a 120,000 pound panamera be like $240,000? two dollars for every pound? Just a thought Spinelli.

  • no what it means is that the price projections were in uk pounds, so £60,000 then some one from the us converted it to $120,000, realistically its gonna be $60,000.

  • Here's a thought, listen to thebossisheretostay.

  • I WALKED BY a new Mitsu Eclipse Spyder the other day...TOP UP...and I could smell "new car" from the OUTSIDE...and it was STRONG! Crazy! NO 4 Cyl for Caddy! They'd screw it up! Stick with 6's and 8's and add cyl shutoff like Honda.

  • I agree with the cylinder shut off idea. Let the people have the V8's and stuff but if they want gas mileage just put the technology into it. It may raise the price a bit because it's adding technology to a large engine instead of downgrading in size, but it would answer people's call for a more gas efficient vehicle.

  • so true

  • Yes I would buy the Turbo-4 or Diesel if they could make the Diesel as good as Audi and VW dose it

  • How can the Mini's be sold out all over? The Dealership here in Omaha has 15-20 of them.

  • spit it out, spinelli!

  • they had the RS spider at the NY auto show i have a pic of it in my vid

  • If they made a TT V6 (3.6 DI-TT Maybe?), I would probably consider it (if the CTS was a 2 Door) over the BMW 335i.

  • yes small, but as long as they lighten them. its not about size, its always been about power to weight. put them on a diet and cut the muscle too, but don't just do one.

  • Episodes with Mike Spinelli are way way better than with Alex Roy. Alex Roy doesn't take the show even a little bit seriously. Props to Mike Spinelli.

  • Spinelli can't talk, Alex is a natural. While Spinelli may know a lot about the stuff he's talking about, he doesn't convey it too well as he goes umm umm youknow weknow tc all the time. Just wastes time on the show.

  • turbo 6

  • thats good to kno im ganna drive with my car window open when i get a new car

  • V6 turbo or twin turbo. I wouldn't buy a caddy anywway.

  • I would have to say, a twin turbo 6 in a Caddy CTS would be nice. The CTS V can continue to be the beast its panning out to be. I agree a turbo 4 might be a bit anemic being the weight of Caddy's, but a twin turbo 6 with all wheel drive. Could make it more fun to drive, yet has the luxury. I respect and always loved caddy's, just my upbringing I guess, but its a respectable american luxury car, compared to Lincoln.

  • I know that Cadillac have tried to make their brand more youthful, but honestly, who wants a Caddy? I know I don't with all the other better cars out there.

  • Just bought cadilac, puts some Ds On it On it hahahahahaha! that what it good for.

  • OK, on one hand, turbo 4 in a cadi would seem bad to most cadi buyers, on the other it could and would be plenty of power and

a 300hp turbo4 is not always a 300hp engine, so gas mileage is much better. here is another good point, if you didn't tell your typical pinheaded cadi owner it was a turbo4 he or she would probably never know.

up to a 2.4 turbo can be made with already existing factory parts. so power not the issue. and no i don't remember the indigo,

you mean the indigo girls? LOL

  • also, are you gonna be at sema this year?

  • yes, we will be there, along with the whole FLD crew too.

  • cool, i'll be in the eagle rods booth, if i make it.

  • turbo 4 or 6

  • I dont see why Cadillac is leaving it up to the customers; most people dont want to buy cadillacs anyway. GM has regained a little stack of street cred with the cts line, and are obviously letting it go to their head. Muddying up their option lineup with yet another engine kit is like taking that tiny stack of cred and spreading it out across the whole plate. The result: It wont take long before nobody notices caddys again.

  • tt v6 in caddy would be awesome. no turbo 4. doesnt match brand image.

And I just noticed porsche is definitely backwards. lol engines in backwards. now the tech development is bacwards.

  • I would prefer not to have the northstar v8 anymore its slow and bad on gas

  • lol "half Syrian, half Jew" funny stuff matt!

  • Sure, put small engines in them. Just a plain Turbo 4 with 265 BHP. It's american for F sake it can't handle so why have much power?

  • small engines in Cadillacs to me is just blasphemy. that would be like a hybrid Farrari...just wrong. its one of the things that makes Cadillacs unique. u fuck with that and i would imagine u would lose the customer base that has made the company so successful. sure u would undoubtedly get people from a different customer base but those same people could go buy a lower priced car with the same capabilities.

  • shit no i dont want a smaller engine in my caddy its a caddy it suppose to big and powerful

  • Mike, you have pricing backwards, I believe. Since the dollar is weaker than the pound, you need more dollars to equal 1 pound. In other words, 130,000 pounds, would be roughly 201,000 US dollars. Not, the other way around. Not 130,000 pounds to 60,000 US Dollars

  • I know it sounded that way. But here's what I meant:

Inside Line reported the V6 Panamera would start at $127,000. To me that figure sounds high, as if someone had done a currency conversion from 65,000 pounds. Now, $65,000 would be similar to the price of the Mercedes CLS, which is the Panamera's main competition, which to me sounds more plausable.

  • yes but only if it is twin turbocharged, like the F40

  • I don't care. I would never buy a Cadillac.

  • I think Caddy should just twin turbo the v6 in there smaller models but don't increase horse power too much so they get better mpg. but really cadillac has gone in a good direction latley and if they make a small car based on the soltice/sky i think it'd sell like crazy.

  • If you're gonna put a turbo I4 into a CTS, you might as well put hubcaps and black doorhandles on it.

    V6/8 ftw!

  • Nothing less then a turbo or supercharged 6

  • well just base it on the g35 coupe right

  • some weird subjects today. maybe a slow car news week? maybe you guys should break down like everyone else and just talk about Brett Favre.

  • A turbo or supercharged V6 would be good in a Caddie.

  • caddy make a 3.0L V8 with a supercharger :) now thats what people want :D

  • Do you want smaller engines in Cadillacs?

Have you driven a V6 CTS? They are slow. It's not what I am looking for in a Cadillac. If they want to INCREASE efficiency or find a way to decrease some weight that would be great.

Supercharged/Turbo 6? Now that would be sweet.

  • NO!

  • Would I buy a smaller engine cadillac? I wouldn't buy a POS cadillac period.

  • Smaller engine in the caddy?

Not smaller than a turbo v6.

  • i like how he said "almost live" LOL!!!

  • never buy a new car, depreciation is a bitch

  • It can be a small engine but , the power to wieght has to be right. We don't need another Catera, which wasn't a bad car but horribly underpowered. And it had 200bhp which let you know how much that beast weighed.

I take it back give me big engines. I know i may be lame to some folks on here but i'm going to get that STS-V Big car Bigger engine. It's a Caddy for Christ sake.

  • even if it kills me a want a new car smell, its the best smell ever!
