  • god i thought id gone mad. i had this on clear vinal and i lost it i was like JR hartley trying to find this

  • Aaaaah, The 80's... when they still knew what the bass was made for...

  • I DON'T WANNA SEE DAVID GUETTA, FUCKING VEVO!

  • @xiropratt92 Vevo forced you to watch David Guetta?

  • @Un4Given71 no, and you? I don't like the modern music.

  • yep

few good ones now vs. few bad ones back then

  • This got me through a tour of duty in Northern Ireland.....Classic

  • very underated song and band

  • "Vienna" was kept off the UK #1 slot by John Lennon's "Woman" for a week, and THEN by Joe Dolce's novelty hit, "Shaddap You Face", something for the old folk always wins

  • Everything seemed happily greysh in the 80's. Yes, the oxymoron is intentional.

  • Great to see this video again.

Same it's been sh*t on by VEVO.

  • bellissima mi ricorda gli anni stupendi a Napoli periodo universita'

  • superbe chanson d Ultravox on ne s en lasse pas !

  • Moody,meaningful MAGIC!

  • fabuloso vivam os anos 80

  • Still love listening to this band...... loved them in the 80's and now! :)

  • Midge Ure and the gang must of felt like banging their heads against a brick wall, ok, Vienna was a good song and made it to No 1, but they made 6 or 7 great songs that never got near, including this one, a band who were way ahead of their time, their songs still sound great today, listen to Muse, they have a sound very much like Ultravox in style and context.

  • @fatneck7 In the Uk, Vienna was kept of number 1 by a shit novelty track called SHADUPA YA FACE. by some none entity faux italian or American twat, called Joe Dolce......What a travesty....Lament is a chilling peice of synth pop that will never be bettered.

  • Ultravox PWNS

  • Was never a fan of ULTRAVOX and yet I bought the album in 1984 ...and this song conjures up ' a memory ' , at its very best ... ..For me personally the song doesnt really stretch too far but its moody tone sets the theme ..

  • This takes me to far away places. .exotic destinations. . .in my mind.

  • thank you from my heart lochnagar92!!! now i know where i mustgo, for my holydays, to see the place where was the best ultravox time... :)

  • Perfect!!

  • Goosebumps all over the whole of me

  • Memories. saw them three times in the one week, at the infamous Glasgow Apollo now gone.

  • Deep 80's song, I like it !

  • Boia deh! Mai visto donne così ospitali! Ora so' dove programmare la mia prossima vacanza!!

  • Shame we can't go back to the 80's ... music-wise. Song lyrics meant something then and the music was just so much better, whether it be Bauhaus, Ultravox, Bowie, Queen, Michael Jackson. There are a few good artists these days but back "in the days" it was a case of a few bad ones! Remember seeing Midge Ure with "Slik" in the 70's on TOTP. Brilliant!

  • @beverleygill25 couldnt agree more

  • @beverleygill25 yep destroy all rap crap its not music.

  • Roll up roll up! Sleeves at half past.

  • C'est tellement beau. Aucune ride avec le temps. Musique éternelle

  • Does anybody know where this fantastic island of pleasure and loose women is as portrayed in this video?

  • @discreditor Isle of Dog's , go through the blackwall tunnel and swing a left:-)

  • @algerbraistj65 spat me tea out, tickled me that one.

  • @ARMINIUS44 Hehe, good song :-) a moment of irony :-))

  • @discreditor The video was, if memory serves, shot at the Isle of Skye.

  • Such a beautiful song

  • I love this song.

  • This is the only pop tune that has made me want to genuflect and cross myself. 'Nuff said?

  • @musicandyceramist listen to dancing with tears in my eyes and the man of two worlds(d'ultravox aussi)

  • @TheRATTLEHEAD75 I know those songs well--used Man of Two Worlds as a composition mule to get the kinks out of a synthesizer rig, and dancing with tears in my eyes is a favorite, but Lament is still the one that shreds me. I dug it out of my vinyl collection just to make sure that it wasn't due to changes in the sound values (some songs do better in digital media, some do better in analog), and it wasn't. That song still does it 20(?) years after first listening--either way I play it.

  • es una cancion preciosa

  • BEST track from the cd Lament. This group of musicians are one of the reasons why I do music myself. Looking forward to a new album, following myTwitter LeNaSmileyStar and learn that new and exiting things are happening.

  • para mi ULTRAVOX es toda una obra de arte ,es la mejor banda y k convina los mejores sonidos clasicos y electronicos lo maximo

  • harriet u in2 jeans or wats in them ? lol

  • luv this song

  • jeden z moich najbardziej ulubionych utworów, aż pachnie latami 80-tymiiiiii!

  • The Island is Skye and the place where the boat docks is the village of Elgol.

  • i wish to know where this 'Island of Women' exists... anybody know?

  • i love it!

  • Another blast from the past, I still like it a lot.

  • Anyone who has loved and lost can relate to this beautifully emotive track. All jeans in the early 80's were incredibly tight. Stunning scenery. Been to a celidh and they are awesome. xxx

  • @willowwitch1966 That's right. It was incredibly good work made by U Vox . It's among their the best slower songs for sure, when i listen to it i feel myself as i I was back again in the middle of 80' s !

  • Great song but the video is a little cheesy, and at 2.25 billy's jeans are to tight.

  • @TheGodParticle

How about Warren's jeans at 2:16?

  • I was born in 1984. I have this cd. The best one i ever got

  • Gorgeous place..Midge copped off with that woman on video..Wouldn't mind but she was due to be married.....hmm. Love ultravox have done since 81.I scratched their names all over my desk at school...saw midge other week at 80's concert. He still has it....x

  • this is a cool song. by a cool band. always loved ultravox. they were way ahead of the times. but what is it with those flamin' wellies our midge has on (bloody things show up in a half dozen of the boys videos).

  • dedicated to all the people are suffering at this time...

  • "I can feel it calling in the air tonight... oh lord"

  • What a beautiful song!

    Thank you!

  • Such a great song. I can listen to it over and over again.

  • Fantastica, pure atmosfere synthpop!
