if it ever did get released it wouldnt be popular. Only die hard fans of the originals will play it (and love it), sega would burn up their budget real quick and sell it to SOE and it will go downhill from there and the servers will shut down after 3 years.

Y played this game on my Dreamcast and now I bought it again for the cube, i cant say only one world: Aamazing, the story, the characters, the music, all is wonderrful!!!

i haven't played many rpgs but SoA is easily on my top 3 and aslo one of the best overall games I've played ever, the story itself is nothing that hasn't been done before mostly buts its done very well and the characters are top notch, throw in awesome music & air battles and ur halfway there

i have to give props to this game for helping me discover what is now my all time favorite video game, tales of symphonia.

i went to the videogame store years ago with the intention of buying skies of arcadia and i didnt quite remember the title of it and bought TOS thinking that was it. i realized after playing the game for a bit that it didnt resemble the gameplay i saw in the SOA commercials.

nevertheless the game i did get turned out to be an absolutely incredible game.

I LOVE THIS GAME. I remember playing this four or five years ago for the cube. I'm still playing it today, since my memory card decided to corrupt right before the last boss. This is one of , f not the, greatest games of all time.

I didn't even know there was a sequal. Btw i need to buy this game. it was the best Dreamcast game i played besides Shenmu.

My favorite part of the game is when you get the Prince's secret ship. But the weirdest is when you have to go to the bottom of the earth and fight like the creator of the planet or some shit.

It's a remake of some sort. Got some better graphics and new features i heard. Only played the gamecube version, but my friend ensured the dreamcast version was just as good.

Believe it or not the DC version is better. As the Gamecube version had to fit on 1 disc so The music on the Gamecube version was compressed into midi files to save space, resulting in far poorer quality music that's often cut off by the sound effects. The graphics are also VERY SLIGHTLY sharper on the DC. The Gamecube on the other hand has toned down the random battles which is good and has new features but if you are a big fan of the music and graphics then the DC version is for you.

There's also a couple new features for the gc version.

But i don't think you should choose one over the other because they are both good. And both will provide you with the awesome experience. :)

It has nothing to do with MIDI, really, since the DC version uses MIDI for most its music too.

MIDI has nothing to do with sound quality, it's just a standard that defines which notes to play when. Sorta like sheet music.

It depends on the synthesizer used whether MIDI sounds good or not. MIDI can sound good. After all it's a professional music standard, used in every professional recording studio.

well all i know is the music was compressed and/or reduced the quality of the music in general on the Gamecube. You could tell particularly with the town music that didnt sound as clear, crisp or sharp and you couldnt hear all the drum beats in the background or all the musical instruments being used in the tune like you could in the Dreamcast version.

O__o I wasn't dissing the game (it's one of my favorites.) I was simply pointing out that Vyse looks a lot like the classic anime character, Captain Harlock. Heck, Captain Harlock's ship is even called "The Arcadia." If you don't believe me, go youtube some Captain Harlock videos. You'd be surprised.

Absolutely agreed. I bought this game many years ago whilst searching for a decent RPG, and my God did this deliver. Whilst it did have it's flaws (of which there were but a few) it remains to this day one of the most enjoyable and emotional experiences I have had with video games. And the soundtrack was brilliant too.
