What is it like compared to a slim jim antenna or any other you have for 2m?
Is there much of a gain difference or signal difference? I am looking at making one for 70cm which will be a lot smaller. The phasing network looks interesting, that is the one thing I never get right! For two aerials I use two bits of 75ohm coax and join it to the 50ohm, so I was wondering about how to do 4! Might have a go this weekend and see what happens.
@urbex2007 Sorry for the delay. This phased array has considerably more gain then a J-pole or a Ringo ranger. With 15 watts, I'm able to access a repeater that 50 miles away. Which is quite of an accomplishment being that the antenna itself is only 30 foot above ground and to make things worse there's a alot of foliage from 50 foot tree nearby. At the end of the video there is a drawing of the coax forst current network. That might give you an idea of how it is done.
