Interracial relationships have caused more problems than it is worth. These relationships have verified to be a disastrous social experiment. It causes too much tensions and 'issues'. I think it is imperative that Blacks procreate with Blacks and white procreate with whites. Perhaps it was wrong for the government to abrogate the anti-miscegenation laws
It's because of uneducated,& illiterate idiots in society who look down on others, why people are confused about or hate themselves. If you don't have anything nice to say, shut up!
The last comment is my motto: If a certain group of people do not like to accept you find another one who does. And there will always be someone who can see a person first and race second. I try to be such a person, I really do not care how one looks like but what they are like. I am happy to be there "right in the middle". And if someone does not like I feel confident about myself, tough, wallow in your bitterness.
That little girl in the beginning reminds me of me when I was little. People would always ask me what color I am. I remember thinking to myself.. "b*tch..do we not know our colors, we're still in elementry so we still got time to learn them". I wish someone would have explained what biracial and mutliracial meant when I was little... I think I wouldn't have been so confused as to which race to identify with. I turned out fine though, I love how people can't tell what I am sometimes.
@vanitysadeparis You gotta be kidding me. My race is not Black, I have White and Black genes 50/50, I'm biracial, but I identify as Black socially and sort of culturally, is it such a problem?
Its so important that biracial children have support from both sides of the family. I never had self identity issues because both sides gave me a rich background of both. Instead of harping on how different people was going to treat me, they gave me such a strong foundation in who I am and what other people or society's opinion of me never mattered.
my mom is black and my mom is mexican i hate when people say "Asiah do you consider yourself black or mexican," it is such a stupid question. why the HELL would i want to be one or the other. i'm pround of being BI-RACIAL. but it is hard becuz when im with my friends and im the only light one or the only dark one, sometimes i feel out of place. :) but hey people should love me for me.
@ktc311 most look african american .. some bi racials on here look more white than black.. if you have a darkskin father you will look more black. however thats not the case with a lightskin or brown skinned black man. if you are already light or mixed and have an child with an white woman your child will still have negroid features but look more white than black .
IF PEOPLE FEEL THE URGE THAT THEY MUST CLING ON TO A GROUP THEN I GUESS ITS FAIR TO SAY THAT YOU ARE WHAT YOUR FATHER IS. THATS THE WAY THE BIBLE AND SCIENTIST TELL IT.
Also...no one wants to be black...I mean, one of the little girls said when her black mother comes to pick her up from her white friends home, she feels embrass because its all white ppl. They know she is mixed so why feel that way? Other then the ghetto fuckers that give blacks a bad name, that is one reason why bi-racial ppl don't want to be black. No, one wants to be the have-nots.
Love what the little boy had to say in the end...that is the best advice. Who will accept you for you, stick with'em...who doesn't fuck'em...if all else fails, blame your parents lol...no but the kid is right though:)
laugh because if you go to Africa with that they will laugh at you, they will accept you as being black but 100% African Is another story. People Should be allowed to identify with whatever they want, for all the people that want to deny parts of themselves because they hate those parts actually hate parts of themselves. We should embraces all that make us who we are, it's not wrong to do so. Good Video!
I like the idea of the video but i feel there is only one race human and many cultures. I'm Multicultural, and i find that most people that say they are biracial are usually multicultural or miltiracial(whichever you prefer) like many of my friend and family. i have so many mixtures in my family its crazy. Most African Americans are not one race to begin with and they tend to forget that, i hate how many say they are 100% African It always makes me
you shouldn't have to choose which one you are and you should be able to define who you are yourself but because of that one drop BS here in america, it doesn't matter how you look, if you have one drop of black blood, your supposed to consider yourself black, which is such a load of crap but on the other hand if your part black and don't consider yourself black, people assume your ashamed of your black blood and just wanna be considered white or whatever other race you are
@battlecatt17 This is what confuses me. Brbrianan1 is considered multicultural but when a white American and a black American have a kid, the kid is considered to be biracial. So does that mean that black and white people from America have the same culture?
@battlecatt17 This is what confuses me. Brbrianan1 is considered multicultural but when a white American and a black American have a kid, the kid is considered to be biracial. So does that mean that black and white people from America have the same culture?

I feel like you get this same treatment and can have to deal with these same issues even if you are Black with Black parents. I may be off the mark, but I think how you deal with these things and how they work on your self image/worth is up to you. If you are secure in who you are, you set people straight by telling them how you see yourself and you move on. Like the little boy says, if they aren't down with it, you find people who are.
this video kinda cracks me up. be whatever the hell you wanna be. black white green. i'm over it. talk to ur mixed kids and explain to them the beauty of both sides so that they can defend themselves in the real world. regardless, sometimes ppl just identify more w/one side bc of circumstances(growing up in the burbs vs an urban setting) and its understandable. that's life. don't take it personal ppl...
@battlecatt17 This is what confuses me. Brbrianan1 is considered multicultural but when a white American and a black American have a kid, the kid is considered to be biracial. So does that mean that black and white people from America have the same culture?
My mom's dad was white and her mom was Black, but she STILL considers herself to be a BLACK WOMAN! Sade's mom is white, but she's still Black. Do the math! Black+ any other ethnicity= Black Child
@synclair0718 where did you get your education, 1/2 + 1/2 = 1 one half white and one half black equals one biracial person, your mother probably grew up in a time when she didn't really have the option to decide, and if she did and she chose to identify as black that is her right just like its ours to claim all that we are and identify as biracial. The racial integrity was outlawed in 1964, one drop rule does not apply anymore
So true! AND THE 1 DROP RULE WAS CREATED BY THE WHITE SLAVE MASTERS. Mixed is mixed fact. I can see if youre 80% one race then ok youre mostly one race.
The first thing that I always hear people say when they see a biracial person is " she must be mixed with something" or " does he or she have a white parent" "she must be half white because she talks really proper"
The reality of this situation is that racism is real...whether you are looking at it from a white or black prospective. ..Both races have racism within and that is simply the reality of it . As I viewed this segment I was so proud of the truthfulness of its participants. Embrace and love YOU.. Bless
im half cuban and british.. i call myself a Bruben.. lol.. no but seriously.. in the military community. NONE of this Matters!.. I wish it was like this everywhere. I know about 15 bi racial kids. haha. I have the most odd group of friends you will ever see. Black Guy, White Guy, Cuban/White guy, Hawaiian/Japanese guy, Spanish, white guy, black white guy . race really doesnt matter.. its so common.. that it's normal.
The bottom line is your not white, you don't look white and you will face the racial issues that this society has created towards black people. White people do not see you as white Period. I think alot of these people have a issue with they are being forced to live with a "Black Perspective" and they have to live with a "Black Perspective" They have to go through life in this society as a Black Person. Thats just the reality here.
@etaniam1 No one is trying to be white, you are missing the point. And being I don't have a clue what you mean about the black perspective, I can't very well be forced into it. I go through life as a person, and get treated 99% of the time as a person, a woman, a film maker, a mother, a jokster, a fashion trend setter, a good cook, a cranky chick every 3rd week of the month...so your take on our life is just NOT our reality.
How the hell do you know what all Biracials look like and how people view them. And stop talking about white people as if they are all the same because they're not, some white people do accept bi-racial identity so STFU!
and after this video you do not have a clue!!! wow. it has nothing to do with them not wanting 2 except being black!!! they have issues with how white ppl and blk ppl treat them, it has nothing 2 do with them not excepting their black side
@etaniam1 I agree with you 100%. You can't take Black and White and make White. The African gene is the strongest gene and a lot of Black people are mixed with something else, not just White. My cousins are half-Korean, but they still identify with themselves as Black...and they live with their Korean mother I might add. So battlecat needs to accept reality.
Black + white = BIRACIAL. Saying that BLACK plus anything makes black is the slave master talking. A person who has heritage that has SIGNIFICANT ammounts of both is BIRACIAL. GET REAL IT AIN'T 1910 ANYMORE. ACCEPT REALITY.
I CAN AND WILL YELL ABOUT IT JUST AS MUCH AS YOU AND WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED.
@synclair Not really. 50% of each will show up if you are truly biracial. Myself, my skin is more towards white, my facial features black, my head shape white, my hair and body structure more towards black. Not 100% in any of those though. What really is the complication with our identity is the misconception between a drop of black blood making you black and a drop of black blood making you a slave.
You're mixed anywhere else. I sure as hell wouldn't be able to say i'm black in Africa.
why is this towards black in instead of both sides of the sectrum? sad to say, if you are born in the u.s the one drop rule is still active so u are black...
"Bi-Racial......Not Black OR White Damn it", Otherwise, people will draw the MOST obvious conclusion.......that the person who posted this video sees a "problem" with being Black, "Passing" is the most cowardly thing anyone could do......Black is Beautiful!!! I don't know about white, because I'm NOT white. The video is misleading when the people in it are "insisting" on NOT being Black, however their dispute is "I'm NOT Either" (White or Black)
The title isn't as you described because no one assumes we are white and no one is asking us to deny our black side, and NOBODY is talking about passing, but since you brought that up..if you're biracial and you say you're black, you're passing for black because you are equally white...
??? Not according to DNA tests given to many African Diasoprans (African-Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Latinos). 30-70% African-Americans have some amount Caucasian Admixture (Only 1% of all AAS ARE 50/50 though and only 19.8% have atleast 25% Caucasian ancestry). But yes there are some African Americans that do not have any or very much admixture.
Let's face it if your half black you WILL be discriminated against in this world as a BLACK PERSON!! I'm biracial and I all ways felt more expected by black people. Most biracial people i've meet say their biracial to exclude their black side and this vid is a prime example!
what video are you watching? We are not excluding anyone, we are including our white side...half a sista and half a white girl, you didn't hear that....
@91cujo How are you so sure that it's not YOUR attitude that gets you discriminated against? I for one am a Black African, and I've never had the displeasure of being discriminated, at least not by meaningful people in society! I respect myself, and I get respected right back. I don't believe in blaming colour, for the woes of society, I just try to be the best in society.....and it WORKS!
America will never stop seeing race. America was founded on racism and it will end with the same thing. HEY BIRACIAL PEOPLE! I just wanted to say that all white people's gene are weak that's why they are a disappearing race. If a white people has a child with anybody who is different their child looks like that person. Like asian americans. If they have a white parent your can't even tell. Their just asians. So dont fell bad. White people just have really weak genes!
Some percentage of people who look white will possess genetic markers indicating that a significant majority of their recent ancestors were African. Some percentage of people who look black will possess genetic markers indicating the majority of their recent ancestors were European.
Its not hatred against our black side, its the point that we're trying to get across to society that we're not black like most people say we are instead of acknowledging BOTH sides of us. Saying that we are bi-racial. So many times I've been told I'm black, on legal papers, papers for school, even if I check both boxes when it comes back theirs only 1 checked and its never the "white" box its ALWAYS the "black" box. I'm not saying I hate my black side,
In america, if you look like you have some BLACK features....most likely people will percieve you as being black...point blank.....thats how black is defined....
if it dont matter what you look like like one of the ladies said...then i guess we just a world full of biracials...lol...most of us are all biracial...
My great grand father was white and indian, but from down the line, my family is black. If that even makes sense.
It's weird though, next to my mom, by skin complexion is lighter then most blacks. And I have Native American eyes as well, but I'm 5'11, average sized lips,
Would I even identify myself with my NAtive and white side? Or am I just black?
This shit is too confusing, so I just say I'm black. Even though alot of people don't believe me.
Black people are NOT biracial, and biracial people will NEVER be accepted by the black race; biracials are biologically and genetically white caucasian, God doesn't want racemixing , thats why you cannot bridge the gap between the races; i am a full booded black African, there are millions of full blooded blacks like me all over the world ; we are the original race, black African humanity.
Biracials are NOT the original race, i don't know what they are.
If God didn't want race mixing then why'd He make us all so different and put us all together? I think in the end you will see you are wrong, God doesn't discriminate, if He did then he wouldn't have created such a beautiful variety of people. He doesn't care what we look like. Who we are as a person is what matters, not what we look like on the outside.
You are delusional i am 100% black African and there are millions of blacks like me, even in America, STOP trying to redefine black, the black race is the original race, whites and all non-blacks are some kind of mutation, therefore biracials are a further mutation from the original black , biracials are genetically and biologically caucasian, like all non-blacks.
ANY child mixed with WHITE caucasian blood and black blood will ALWAYS be WHITE caucasian, because white recessive can come from black dominant, but black dominant CAN'T come from white recessive.
ALL non-blacks including biracials, Indians,Spanish, Arabs, creoles and Ricans are just melinated Caucasians.
The UNESCO Statement on Race (1995): in terms of scientific discourse, there is no such thing as a race that has any scientific utility. The same scientific groups that developed the biological concept over the last century have now concluded that its use for characterizing human populations is so flawed that it is no longer a scientifically valid concept. In fact the biological concept of race as applied to humans has no legitimate place in biological science.
yeah some liberal psuedo-scientific collective can try to push any agenda they choose; the truth is that you look at a negro, you know it's a negro. you look at a biracial, you see a negro; there is no replacement for a white person. thats why obama simply plays it as a black, he's biracial, but he knows hes black, he's being real about it. these biracials in this video aren't being real about themselves.
Although Obama identifies as African American despite having a white mother, 55 percent of whites classified him as biracial instead of black and 61 percent of Hispanics did so as well. Blacks were less willing with 66% considering him black. Unless you are speaking for the 66% of blacks, your comment is not legit with the current stats available!
Obama understands the backlash of saying he's biracial but if you do your research he says America has decided he is black-he's accepted that
@ elmoekardt you say "he simply plays it as a black man"
--I say; because he's in politics, (he's a smart man, he knows how his mother impacts his identity) and makes many references to his diverse background
Come on now..."we are real!! we don't have to answer to the masses-or you or anyone, that's real!
Obama is as white as he is black, thats real
making him biracial, thats real
the rest is social construct, the one drop rule, thats real
When did being real about yourself become hiding apart of yourself to please others? These people in the video have accepted both parts of themselves the problem here however are people who think and operate like you. If you think being real about yourself is denying apart or a half or even a quarter of yourself is being real then think again.
These people want to be called what they are not just white or commonly called just black . They want to be what they are and what they are combined to be BIRACIAL and if you cant fathom that then you need to take your own misconstrued advice and get real.
You're an atheist...wow we're really happy for you. But why would you expect a theist to debate as if they were an atheist themselves. Just as you don't want people to force their values on you, you should do the same...atheism is beside the point to them as much as God is to you...
You sound like a straight up bitch. I'm bi-racial myself, half black and half white, and I respect all kinds of people. I just don't get down with this utopian like mindset that any race is better than another or that in this case African bloodline is "the original race". If that's your opinion, so be it, but you act like a lil bitch saying you don't know what bi-racial people are. What a fuckin clown..my blood bleeds the same color yours does African Bambaada.
Biracial means having one parent of one race, and another parent of another race. A lot of blacks have mixed blood, but aren't biracial because both of their parents are blacks. A white great grandfather doesn't make you biracial.
that's what i say to people that ask me about it. why should you treat me any differently? i get confused for being either or. & some say i "act white". i'm okay with that. i'm just being me. at least i accept who i am. & i'd rather be different or "unique" than have to suffer being like everyone else, being categorized & expected to be or act a certain way.
i undersand, tho they are tlking about white and black im black and hispanic and ppl treat me different at times....its kinda hard but i learn to deal with this. watching this documentry made me feel a lil better becuase i am not alone. others go threw it to.
while the debate of race as a social construct (or the debate of race as a difinitve), is a plausable discussion, the reality of perception dictates whats real and whats mythology...the comments clearly represent something real, real issues which in turn create the reason for open conversations. I don't think in our life time the issue of race will be dismissed
The comment they are making can be stated by dark- skinned Blacks as well. How many times do you see a music video focusing on light skinned femailes?
P Diddy and others avoid using Dark skinned females. Usually the dark skinned women are the fat, fummy character and lighter skinned are the romantic lintrest of Black males.
Light skin blacks and biracial folks have different storires, but we do have a POV about that as well, check out the video Light Skin Curse under Battlecatt17 video's--it's a part to this series
Mannn..look I'm biracial I LOVE MY BLACK AND MY WHITE SIDE EQUALLY....I don't put one race over the other i like embracing both but.............I be damned if I'm a let another person tell me what and who I am and say that I'm just black......That's not being fair to my other half.......so I will NEVER let some call just black.........I AM BIRACIAL AND THAT'S IT
This subject is a universal issue that occurs with people of all origins and ethnicities, not just black and white. I've seen some pretty racist and elitist type of comments, which is the last thing for anyone to carry, especially when some of them CONDONE the same 'racial' scrutiny they're arguing against. It creates more division.
The little boy in this video made the most sense by saying if a people don't like you for who you are find someone else who does.
hi everybody. excuse my english. I'd ever loved USA since I was a baby, but now with youtube I discoverd howmuch USA hate who is different from it. Whites hate blacks, blacks hate whites, and now I discover whites and blacks hate biracial people.
hi everybody. excuse my english. I'd ever loved USA since I was a baby, but now with youtube I discoverd howmuch USA hate who is different from it. Whites hate blacks, blacks hate whites, and now I discover whites and blacks hate biracial people.
On youtube there are many many videos against Italy and italians from americans, many americans hate us (I don't know why) you mock us about everything: our accent, our culture, our foods, with terrible stereotype and false and I am so tired to see and listen to it.
There is bad and good everywhere, into every race...even if it is bad to talk about "race" I hate the word "race" it is for only domestic animals like dogs and cats not with humans.
So please stop with hate and stop with racism. We are in 2010, the mistakes let's leave it in the pass history please.
Then I think bi racial are very very beautiful and stop to offend us italians please. from Italy
I am where I am because of the bridges that I crossed. Sojourner Truth was a bridge. Harriet Tubman was a bridge. Ida B. Wells was a bridge. Madame C. J. Walker was a bridge. Fannie Lou Hamer was a bridge.
not all biracial people look mostly white. it just depends on there genes, how their parents looked. there is biracial people that are darker then a full black person and there's also some that you cant even tell they're mixed. Why would we identify with only PART of something we are?
shayshay thats not true there are no ~Half Caste~ people who are darker than Black people you're talking shit now all biracials look White and are White Tanned people ~~if you look at the White jewish features you will see that the Biracial features are the same they are White Tanned people.
So your telling me I'm blind? I'm biracial. I grew up around tons of different kinds of people, and I know biracial people that you cant even tell their mixed they look totally white or totally black, but like me, their are some that you can tell are mixed but look more Latino. But for the most part, when you see a biracial person you will be able to tell by their facial features, you will be able to tell their not just white.
Yes I am calling you Blind because a actually pure Biracial person looks more White whos perents are directley from Europe and Africa Like Obama where as american biracials are already waterd down on there Black side from slavery but the Black african native side is not so realy 80% of biracial americans are realy scientificaly (Semi-White) or (Semi-Black) witch are either 75% Black or 75% White . In Obama case bieng 50/50 he looks more White like me Enough Said.
Thank You OneSummerSky(: OBAMAisHalfCaste like i said it just depends on what our genes are, what the skin tone of our parents are. If our white parent is, lets say, a tanner white person and our black parent is a darker black person then the biracial child could come out looking totally black. Did you know Bob Marley is biracial? Yes, his dad, Norval Sinclair Marley, was a white Jamaican; and his mother, Cedella Booker, was a black Jamaican. NOW tell me all bi-racial people look mostly white
I think this exemplifies how different people have different concepts of what is "white" and what is "black".
You say all biracials look white. I wonder, do you think north-Moroccans are white or black? I know in some west african countries the skin colour of north-Moroccans is perceived as white. Whereas in Europe they are seen as black. Not white.
So when someone from north-Morocco is seen as black, sure, some biracials can be darker. Like @shayshay427 says.
The only problem i have with biracial people is their inability to define THEMSELVES. What do i mean by that? Biracial people are happy to say their black when the music comes on, then next minute they say they are white when black people are being attacked. Biracial people love to pick and choose what race to be when the time is right.
Thats what i love about being100% African, i know who i am , i dont have to manipulate people with my unidentifiable ethnicity aka fakeness.
You clearly don't know African American history, Frederick Douglas was biracial (so many other activist in the civil rights movement), maybe the fact that you are 100% African you can't speak on this topic of biracial Americans/African Americans. Biracials and blacks fought side by side, and still do. Defining onesellf in truth does not mean not standing up for blacks, we are half black..and when do we ever say we're white, we say we're biracial--end of story. And we know who we are as well!!
I agree with you on that statement but what I hate is that white society is always making them think that their not black. But they treat them like black people but they don't want so called biracials to actually realize that they are black so they won't call themselves black which would make our numbers in this country go up on statistics. Whites realize that they are out numbered but if they can make the public think that their are more of them hell they won the game.
@quepasa3000 OMG, You are so ignorant and just talk out of your ass. I hate it when stupid people try to act smart. Go educate yourself. Being biracial is an interesting thing. Not all biracial people have an identity problem, only in your passive point or view. Most know they are biracial and proud to be biracial........
I find it soooo funny how biracial people are attacking us blacks for calling them 'black' . Notice when you switch on BET, what do u see? nothing but mulattos, go to any black club, what do u see? mulattos EVERYWHERE. And they have the nerve to say us black people should stop calling them 'black', maybe they shold stay out of our black culture, creat ur own mulatto tvstation, and make sure you dont play any black music
Hahaha Right on! If they want to be white, take the whole package and not the best out of two worlds. Obama is bi-racial and he says he is proud to be black. I'm glad that races are mixing, this will hopefully solve the whole racism problem, leaving us with one mixed human race.
this video explains my life. when i was younger i would be ridiculed by adults and children for not being too this. half of my family doesnt like me because im "not black enough" its sad but its true and im more mixed than normal lol but its not right to just pick one race
A lot of people in this documentary are pathetic by denying their black identity. My father is half Creole half Caucasian, and my mother is Caucasian, and I am proudly BLACK. What is so bad about acknowledging your blackness? Why are some biracial blacks offended by being called black? Is it that bad to be associated with your black ancestry? Get a life, you people.
Sorry to say but you've missed the whole point. These people know who they are and are not ashamed of their parents individual "race". What they have a problem with however is the fact that people blatantly deny one part of them. This causes conflict because they're not white or just black they're Bi-racial. They can't be one without the other despite what you would like to categories them as.
Well said mate. People like Marllon, seem to have exchange the acceptance of white racists, for the acceptance of Black racists, via denying his white side, to please them. I often wonder, what will a Bi-racial person denying his white side, do for African-Americans struggle against racism in the USA? Absolutely nothing, FACT!
i think most people refer to bi racial people as black because they look more black than white and thats because when u mix black n white the black gene is dominant(fact). secondly u have black people that have a lighter shade eg southern africans(botswana, namibia, zambia) and these are 100% black . hence the confusion,u dont have any white people that look like they are mixed race, all white people are either pink or egg shell colored.if they look really dark then they been to the heater.
Its you who's need to get a life mate. Oh, I suggest you read up on DNA in Biology fool. You may be ashamed of being Bi-racial, but these intelligent folks in the video, aren't. So, you can continue to deny your white mother, all you like, but that 50% white blood of your mum will forever remain in you & your kids. The truth hurts, doesn't it? you NOI tool!
My sister is of 50% African American and 50% European descent and is proudly biracial, lightnstrike. She sees it as a social AND genetic description and she resents it when people project their own racial inferiority/superiority complexes onto her by trying to force her to construct her identity based on THEIR societal views. If 20% black descent makes you consider yourself black, that's totally cool, but hopefully you're not one to tell other mixed people how to construct their own identity.
One race,..... the human race. People are so screwed up. My Ex girlfriend was a very lightskinned sista. she caught hell from both sides. even more so from Black people.
@dexterferrell This vid is about race not what skin colour you are, and American society see these people as black due to the racist history in that country which was made to keep half white people out of white society but the fact is these people in the vid are not part of the black race or the white race and their genetic makeup would verify that....duh, come on man, it's not that hard to grasp the concept.
And can you please explain too me, how they are Black? As the last time I looked at the bible of DNA, only a Black man & Black Woman can produce a Black child like only a White man & White Woman can produce a white child. So explain your position, Enstein!
what are yall talking about you are all black people regardless of how much other you have I look at at you and i think thats a black girl ture she is lightskinned but she still black he is black too he's lightskinned black but black just the same thats your race you may want to be white but youre not
"Bi-Racial", Yeeeeek!!! Uuuggggg!!! This term is so GODDAMN Lame. Probably thought up by some sqeamish good-for-nothing bleeding-heart bespetacled cheezy faced namby-pamby White "liberals" in conjunction with some high-yella kinky headed "college ed." negros who are hoplessly lost without a ghost of a chance of getting corrected centered. As a half black guy with a white mother, I know what I am, and that's a NIGGUH!!! Just ask the Klu Klux Klan what I am, they sho' nuff will vouch for me!!!
My sister is of 50% African American and 50% European descent and is proudly biracial, lightnstrike. Same here, im half white, half black but because my features look more on the african side, people ..mainly white people feel comfortable to call me black, which irritates me soo much, I aways state that I am both and Im proud to be both but they then think you are the one with issues or may be ashamed of you black side, whats up with that? grrr lol
I almost married a white man he was a good man but I decided to stick with black men after I begin to see discrimination at work and by the police then i started noticing that biracial women where the cream of the crop by all races. I had to reproduce black men who where not color stuck for the beautiful black women that are soon to come. I began to realize that a interracial marriage was not for me.
I really like this video I had a debate with my family and friends about biracial people since most of them are biracial or have married outside of their race and now they have biracial children. My cousin made a comment that his children are black to this lady at his job that made a comment about biracial people confusing the black race. My response was they are biracial and then everyone got mad.
It's so sad for them, they could have been one race or the other, but their confused parents chose to ruin their uniqueness and turn their kids into an odd blend of 2 unique races. Remember, in order to have diversity, we shouldn't racially mix.
Out of the mouths of babes...the little boy in the end said it best, "if someone does not like you for who you are then find someone that does." Words to live by no matter what your skin color may be.
Ok, help me with your POV--you are speaking for the white man in your previous post...saying the slave mentally still exist, but he's not on this wall cosigning a negative overture, you are co-signing the slave masters mentality...why is that, you've decided we're black, we know we're half black, but we are slso half white, and we give a damn about the white blood that gave us life..so why all the hate, "AlwaysLove Stacy", your name implies your heart might be more open to loving than hating..
Till this day Blacks are more accepting of Bi-racials(Black&white) than the White man is. You bi-racials can sit there and say I'm not Black I am my own race. But whether you like it or not in this society you are still man. You can try to act like it's not there, but the slave mentality does exist. The White man does not care how much percentage of White you have in your blood, you're still Black so get used to it. In the 1900s you would have been sitting at the back of the bus just like me.
Bull $41t! In my own family my nephew, son of my half sister which my mother had by a darker skinned man hates all mixed people. Including his grandmother, me, my sister, and my father who actually raised his mother from when she was 12 or 14. Why? Because he is two shades darker, and thinks he has it so much harder.
A kid who could have been a lawyer or doctor but though that would be acting white. He instead choose to be a drug dealer and to knock up women and not marry them. :-(
this is kinda stupid when people say "well im not black or white, im biracial!" that statement is soo fucking stupid and doesnt make sense to me. dude had nightmares about half of his body getting beaten up?? WTF! you have got to fucking be kidding me. i dont get butt hurt when people call me black. I AM! and i aknowledge my white side and proud of it, but i call myself a black man...SO FUCKING WHAT!
...OK, so if you call yourself a black man why is your name "BiracialRudeBwoy", you are not making any sense, and you're the one calling something stupid, really WTF!!
I agree 100 percent. "I'm not Black I'm not White I'm Bi-racial" I mean wtf. You're both stop denying it and acting like Bi-racial is its own race. Its not!
'...we're saying we're both, that's what makes as biracial darling...and who says it can't be its own race? You, hahahahahahah you're funny--you get to rule your life, not ours!!
@BiracialRuDEBwoY As a non mixed-African American I sympathize with the people in this video. However I noticed that although in the black community birracials catch flack they still get the same type of attitudes from white people although in a different matter. If a birracial person who is more in touch with their black side has predomaintly white friends or is in a white enironvment there is a subliminal message that they have to tone down themselves and make their language universal.

Its so important that biracial children have support from both sides of the family. I never had self identity issues because both sides gave me a rich background of both. Instead of harping on how different people was going to treat me, they gave me such a strong foundation in who I am and what other people or society's opinion of me never mattered.

@etaniam1 I agree with you 100%. You can't take Black and White and make White. The African gene is the strongest gene and a lot of Black people are mixed with something else, not just White.

Why isn't this video titled.......

What?
July95211, I'm an Atheist, so do not pull God on this subject if you are willing to debate.
Alot of blacks are biracial. Do you honestly believe most blacks are fully African? LOL
Take a look at our skin complexion. They can range to the COLOR of a caucasion to dark black. There really is no limit to what our skin color can be.

OneSummerSky 1 year ago
yeah some liberal psuedo-scientific collective can try to push any agenda they choose; the truth is that you look at a negro, you know it's a negro. you look at a biracial, you see a negro; there is no replacement for a white person. thats why obama simply plays it as a black, he's biracial, but he knows hes black, he's being real about it. these biracials in this video aren't being real about themselves.
elmoekardt 1 year ago
Although Obama identifies as African American despite having a white mother, 55 percent of whites classified him as biracial instead of black and 61 percent of Hispanics did so as well. Blacks were less willing with 66% considering him black. Unless you are speaking for the 66% of blacks, your comment is not legit with the current stats available!
Obama understands the backlash of saying he's biracial but if you do your research he says America has decided he is black-he's accepted that
battlecatt17 1 year ago
@ elmoekardt you say "he simply plays it as a black man"
--I say; because he's in politics, (he's a smart man, he knows how his mother impacts his identity) and makes many references to his diverse background
Come on now..."we are real!! we don't have to answer to the masses-or you or anyone, that's real!
Obama is as white as he is black, thats real
making him biracial, thats real
the rest is social construct, the one drop rule, thats real
so "you" need to get real about it
battlecatt17 1 year ago

When did being real about yourself become hiding apart of yourself to please others? These people in the video have accepted both parts of themselves the problem here however are people who think and operate like you.

Just as you don't want people to force their values on you, you should do the same...atheism is beside the point to them as much as God is to you...

that's what i say to people that ask me about it. why should you treat me any differently? i get confused for being either or. & some say i "act white". i'm okay with that. i'm just being me. at least i accept who i am. & i'd rather be different or "unique" than have to suffer being like everyone else, being categorized & expected to be or act a certain way.

this is the rhetoric of mediocrity this whole race mythology.
doctorw2 1 year ago
while the debate of race as a social construct (or the debate of race as a difinitve), is a plausable discussion, the reality of perception dictates whats real and whats mythology...the comments clearly represent something real, real issues which in turn create the reason for open conversations. I don't think in our life time the issue of race will be dismissed
battlecatt17 1 year ago
well if thats the case, thats truly tragic that we will go on for centuries hung up over trivialities such as this race myth.

I absolutely agree with you...

Mannn..look I'm biracial I LOVE MY BLACK AND MY WHITE SIDE EQUALLY....I don't put one race over the other i like embracing both but.............I be damned if I'm a let another person tell me what and who I am and say that I'm just black......That's not being fair to my other half.......so I will NEVER let some call just black.........I AM BIRACIAL AND THAT'S IT
nnnnnsssssssssllllln 1 year ago
This subject is a universal issue that occurs with people of all origins and ethnicities, not just black and white. I've seen some pretty racist and elitist type of comments, which is the last thing for anyone to carry, especially when some of them CONDONE the same 'racial' scrutiny they're arguing against. It creates more division.
The little boy in this video made the most sense by saying if a people don't like you for who you are find someone else who does.

On youtube there are many many videos against Italy and italians from americans, many americans hate us (I don't know why) you mock us about everything: our accent, our culture, our foods, with terrible stereotype and false and I am so tired to see and listen to it.
milly8389 1 year ago
The hate produce only hate...stop with the hate please! stop racism!
Even if you americans like offend us and mock us I don't hate you, but you really disappointed me very much.
The movies shows always a beautiful USA a great country of USA, but it is false...where there is hate there is not beauty!
Excuse my vent, I don't want to judge you at all, but I am so sad becouse I discoverd all your hate for each other is different from you.

There is bad and good everywhere, into every race...even if it is bad to talk about "race" I hate the word "race" it is for only domestic animals like dogs and cats not with humans.
So please stop with hate and stop with racism. We are in 2010, the mistakes let's leave it in the pass history please.
Then I think bi racial are very very beautiful and stop to offend us italians please. from Italy

All ~Half Caste~ look more White because White is the most dominant gene so they should clearly identify as White so should Obama

not all biracial people look mostly white. it just depends on there genes, how their parents looked. there is biracial people that are darker then a full black person and there's also some that you cant even tell they're mixed. Why would we identify with only PART of something we are?
shayshay4276 1 year ago
shayshay thats not true there are no ~Half Caste~ people who are darker than Black people you're talking shit now all biracials look White and are White Tanned people ~~if you look at the White jewish features you will see that the Biracial features are the same they are White Tanned people.
OBAMAisHalfCaste 1 year ago
So your telling me I'm blind? I'm biracial. I grew up around tons of different kinds of people, and I know biracial people that you cant even tell their mixed they look totally white or totally black, but like me, their are some that you can tell are mixed but look more Latino. But for the most part, when you see a biracial person you will be able to tell by their facial features, you will be able to tell their not just white.
shayshay4276 1 year ago
Yes I am calling you Blind because a actually pure Biracial person looks more White whos perents are directley from Europe and Africa Like Obama where as american biracials are already waterd down on there Black side from slavery but the Black african native side is not so realy 80% of biracial americans are realy scientificaly (Semi-White) or (Semi-Black) witch are either 75% Black or 75% White . In Obama case bieng 50/50 he looks more White like me Enough Said.
OBAMAisHalfCaste 1 year ago
Obama look black...lol...but once again its a matter of perception
DatBlackAmerican 1 year ago
Thank You OneSummerSky(: OBAMAisHalfCaste like i said it just depends on what our genes are, what the skin tone of our parents are. If our white parent is, lets say, a tanner white person and our black parent is a darker black person then the biracial child could come out looking totally black. Did you know Bob Marley is biracial? Yes, his dad, Norval Sinclair Marley, was a white Jamaican; and his mother, Cedella Booker, was a black Jamaican. NOW tell me all bi-racial people look mostly white
shayshay4276 1 year ago
@OBAMAisHalfCaste

Thats what i love about being100% African, i know who i am , i dont have to manipulate people with my unidentifiable ethnicity aka fakeness.
quepasa3000 1 year ago
You clearly don't know African American history, Frederick Douglas was biracial (so many other activist in the civil rights movement), maybe the fact that you are 100% African you can't speak on this topic of biracial Americans/African Americans. Biracials and blacks fought side by side, and still do. Defining onesellf in truth does not mean not standing up for blacks, we are half black..and when do we ever say we're white, we say we're biracial--end of story. And we know who we are as well!!
battlecatt17 1 year ago
I agree with you on that statement but what I hate is that white society is always making them think that their not black. But they treat them like black people but they don't want so called biracials to actually realize that they are black so they won't call themselves black which would make our numbers in this country go up on statistics. Whites realize that they are out numbered but if they can make the public think that their are more of them hell they won the game.
MegaZeitgeist 1 year ago
@quepasa3000 OMG, You are so ignorant and just talk out of your ass. I hate it when stupid people try to act smart. Go educate yourself. Being biracial is an interesting thing. Not all biracial people have an identity problem, only in your passive point or view. Most know they are biracial and proud to be biracial........

I find it soooo funny how biracial people are attacking us blacks for calling them 'black' . Notice when you switch on BET, what do u see? nothing but mulattos, go to any black club, what do u see? mulattos EVERYWHERE. And they have the nerve to say us black people should stop calling them 'black', maybe they shold stay out of our black culture, creat ur own mulatto tvstation, and make sure you dont play any black music
quepasa3000 1 year ago
Hahaha Right on! If they want to be white, take the whole package and not the best out of two worlds. Obama is bi-racial and he says he is proud to be black. I'm glad that races are mixing, this will hopefully solve the whole racism problem, leaving us with one mixed human race.

Marllon 1 year ago
Sorry to say but you've missed the whole point. These people know who they are and are not ashamed of their parents individual "race". What they have a problem with however is the fact that people blatantly deny one part of them. This causes conflict because they're not white or just black they're Bi-racial. They can't be one without the other despite what you would like to categories them as.
mcnuggetssmcnuggetss 1 year ago
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I don't know how the point gets missed...I don't know what they are hearing/seeing--thank you!!
battlecatt17 1 year ago
Well said mate. People like Marllon, seem to have exchange the acceptance of white racists, for the acceptance of Black racists, via denying his white side, to please them. I often wonder, what will a Bi-racial person denying his white side, do for African-Americans struggle against racism in the USA? Absolutely nothing, FACT!
H1MLA 1 year ago
i think most people refer to bi racial people as black because they look more black than white and thats because when u mix black n white the black gene is dominant(fact). secondly u have black people that have a lighter shade eg southern africans(botswana, namibia, zambia) and these are 100% black . hence the confusion,u dont have any white people that look like they are mixed race, all white people are either pink or egg shell colored.if they look really dark then they been to the heater.

She sees it as a social AND genetic description and she resents it when people project their own racial inferiority/superiority complexes onto her by trying to force her to construct her identity based on THEIR societal views.
