If you don't mind a suggestion dear, you should try Kosher Salt or Sea Salt instead of Iodized salt. Either salt will produce a much better flavor without all of the chemicals... I'm not a fan of eating Iodine personally. I think you and your husband seem like wonderful people. Keep the videos coming!
Hi Ms.Betty! I've been watching most of your videos and i find them really helpful especially that im an Asian,my husband liked most of the food i cooked for him from your recipe!just wondering how long did you cook the meat on the grill?this recipe looks easy to make, yet looks so good!:)
@tess453 Thanks for your lovely comment! The time on the grill will vary with the heat of the grill and the thickness of your pork chops, but generally it will take about 25 minutes over indirect heat. Pork must be cooked all the way done, so check to make sure there is no pink showing when you take them off the grill.
My chops aren't going to taste near as good after watching your video Betty. Is there anything better than a chop on the grill I think not unless it's a piece of chicken. We have a law in my county of KY that grills are not allowed when living in an apartment complex. Ky folks not being able to grill put up a fuss over but it passed anyway. Grilled food and sweet tea is in our DNA in KY. lol
Every time I'm looking for a neat recipe to make, I turn to Betty! Your recipe videos are always so helpful and delicious. No other how-to cooking videos compare. You should write a cookbook, I'll buy it!
@hpwai The complete recipe is with the video. Just click the down arrow or "more info." It will take different amounts of time on different grills and different temperatures. I suggested that you test for doneness, because pork must be cooked thoroughly. I suggested that you check to make sure that no pink is showing.
Hey, Thank you so much for cooking help. I need lots of practice, I was wandering about eggplant, and cornbeef &cabbage? We don't eat that in the South but it is good sometimes. How do you make cabbage? I love wachting your shows, I am form Pensacola, Fl so I can relate to much of the Souhtren cooking,,yours is simple and not overdone like the magazines.
I cannot believe that Betty - 40 years - you seriously don't look old enough! I think that you should throw in a few fountain of youth tips along with the cooking demos! x
Very Nice! That's exactly how I prep and grill my porkchops! I have also used fresh thyme leaves with the other ingredients, not too many but enough to get the taste. You may want to try that next time, trust me its good:) I have some chops in the freezer and they're getting grilled this weekend!!
Betty, that was looking so good until you got to the lima beans!! LOL, I was forced to eat those when I was a little girl in Virginia - my Aunt served them up with pretty much everything and, if it wasn't lima beans, it was black eyed peas! :)
Betty that looks so good! It's a pity that in America you have to cook pork well done (due to health risks) but in Australia our pork industry is clean enough(no imports yet) to have the pork cooked so it is a little pink, and oh so juicy. Keep up the great recipes. :)
Sometimes the simple things are the best , the pork chops looked great and the baked rice looked great too .....nice touch with the fireworks in the end....!!!
Lovely pork recipe Betty, your chops look really tasty. We had a pork curry today :-) take care Richard . PS I like your fireworks at the end of the video.
tasty grilled pork and vegetables are an amazing meal. I ate this in Sweden. It's great dish when u're very hungry. Thnx Betty for video. This video makes me hungry and your drink makes me thristy especially today we have the hottest day in this summer :D Betty, do you know any summer cold soups? :)
Thanks Betty and Rick, Those chops look so good! I'm thinking some brown gravy with the horseradish cream would really top them off. I've been using instant ice tea powder for the ease of making a glass of tea, but it isn't as good as fresh made.
@dburns163 Thanks for your nice comment! Brown gravy and horseradish cream sounds wonderful with grilled pork chops. I have a video on making iced tea. You might search for iced tea or pattern glass in bettyskitchen, if you are interested.
You are such a role model for me :) You are such an intelligent, elegant and gracefull woman that can cook like a god! When I become a mum, I want to be just like you :)
I may get called an idiot for this but you know I never knew you could get boneless pork chops...I was always put off pork chops because of the bones but now I know this little gem I'm definitely trying this :D Thanks Betty, you taught me something I didn't know as usual :D
just salt and pepper no offense but that doesnt sound to good
