  • @lmospina42 what is the moeller technique

  • @evilbob1001 wow thats one of the most immature comments ive ever read on youtube.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX your face is the most immature comment ^_^

  • @evilbob1001 god damn fools like you make this website a bad place. it's just sad how some children are raised these days. if you actually have the nerve and the time to come on to youtube and say things like that then it's time you just fall to obesity and get the fuck out of our world.

  • @evilbob1001 i hope you die of cancer asshole

  • Comment removed

  • @BOYWITHHAIR2

XxStrongDrums1996xX is correct you dickhead wait your mum called she wants to have sex with me again FUCK YOU

  • @Ilikeclubpenguin986 is that the best jokes you have -.-

you more pathetic then orphan children

  • i love saying pataflafla

  • @RickeyComedy Pataflafla

  • patapon + flam + flam?

  • It's called GOOGLE. How about typing something like 'Rudiments Flam' into the search box and guess what, there you go.

  • noob

  • your grace notes should not come up at all.

  • lol, thays not to bad, u gotta hav some flow

  • um yes they should, specially when u get faster and need to use more moller to pump out the faster hand to hand flams.

i hate when people comment on stuff they don't even know. go watch Bill Bachman's Rudimental Beats video.

  • um no they shouldnt. any flam rudiment shouldnt have any grace notes come up at all in a perfect world. the technique of course changes when you go faster, but why would you EVER pop up grace notes when you dont have to, especially at a low tempo?

noob. reading a book doesnt make you more qualified than me.

  • u shouldnt at low tempos, but u HAVE TO at faster tempos. seriously dude watch any corps footage or i&e,

im done arguing with u. obviously u have no idea what ur talking about.

  • @TenorPlayer1800 i march world class.

  • stop whining and post a video response showing u can do pataflaflas at tempo 120+ or any other flammed rudiments as 16ths notes.

go ahead. lets see them grace notes raise up baby

  • @TenorPlayer1800 hes starting them at like 60, he has no excuse for them to come up at that tempo

  • agreed.

this was a pretty much useless argument.

you also have to notice the fact that no where in this vid does it say "for marching drummers only". obviously this rudiment can be played diff tempos, diff settings ie: orchestral, marching, kit...

    for marching, he sucks

    for orchestral, ...well still sucks

for kit, not bad, but not good.

  • mmmk.

  • so its pretty much alternating flam accents with a extra flam?

  • DIDDLE LOL.

  • R/flam L/tap R/tap L/flam

  • i think that if you master the single stroke roll, the second stroke roll, and the flam, the ohters rudiments are just those 3 adding something more, if you master those 3 you could master the others really easy, like TheLastPictureShow if u suck at double stroke roll then u wont be able to do a quick paradiddle

  • im gonna have to disagree. for most of the basic rudiments thats true. but when you get into hybrids its a lil different

  • You left out the "drag rudiments" It's imperative to learn the RUFF and it's affiliates. These are necessary to play any style of music.(I have been playing professionally for over 40 yrs. and have been a member of NARD since 1975.

  • iam a n00b is this:-

    LR-L-R-RL and so on?

  • yup

  • thx, in 3d

  • PATAFLAFLA

  • USE YOUR WRISTS NOT ARMS!

  • Horrible sticks. Go faster

  • patapatapon? xD

  • it would help if he didn't lock his wrists....and to 999manman's comment the percussive arts society (P.A.S.) are the ones who have come up with the rudiments there the 13 "essential" rudiments....the second 13 rudiments......and the most recent additional 14 rudiments.......also, i'll be posting videos of all of these rudiments and the proper playing technique in about a month......look under "mikey's rudiments" in about a month

  • Alsn Dawason's "RUDIMENTAL RITUAL" is what every drummer should practice. It's written out in John Ramsey's book and also comes with a CD. It's the most complete collection of rudiments to practice; The Standard 26, Swiss and Hybrid Rudiments. Check it out.

  • the end where he splays the sticks is so cheesy

  • Huh! I don't recall this rudiment in my drum primer. I think we only went up to 12 or 16.

  • Actually, a flam is a stroke, usually accented, preceded very closely by a soft grace note.

  • no it is not. a flam is to hits one with each stick. the first note is known as the grace note which is a regular tap and then an accent. its like 2 32nd notes. sounds like one

  • ...are you kidding me....

look at other replys but basically if its a right flam, then you hit it with your left hand milliseconds before your right, and the right is louder than the left. <for a right flam.

  • not exactly at the same time, but close together. 1 of the sticks should hit slightly after the other.

  • I think it may be called an accent

  • hey can u guys tell me what a flam is? i think it is when you hit it a little harder on a stroke. like single single single single flam single single single flam single single flam flam.??? is what i do alot i think, i am just starting to get into drum lessons because im really good at drums but learned without any technical stuff, like reading music, the strokes, the time signatures i was ignorant to all that. so now i have to kind of start over and get technique.

  • dont lift your grace notes so high

  • thats also called a flamadiddle

  • To TBULL29

    No it's not.

  • it complicated lol

  • I want to be really good. I'm practicing all the rudiments on my pad before I even get a drumset, which should be in about a month. I can't wait.

  • he he........pataflafla he he

  • i thought the pataflafa was flam single single flam not flam flam single single if u get me? lol

  • yeah he did flam single single flam, flam single single flam and so on. It does blend together to sound like flam flam single single though.

  • Well, most rudiments have different possible combinations (sequences), like:

    flam, single, single, flam

    flam, flam, single, single

    single, flam, flam, single

    single, single, flam, flam

You actually just put the first count on a different position of the rudiment.

  • You all are retarded, these are rudiments, they aren't supposed to be impressive. It's good these things are on here, rudiments can very tricky.

  • They are indeed all retarded.

Rudiments ARE indeed used in getting around the kit as well as in non rock music.

BUT.. they are really the drummers version of scales and arpeggios. All rudiments are exercises that improve our playing. Phrases. There are 2 types of drummers. Those that know and practice rudiments and those that suck.

  • Pretty much.

  • nah they just dont care about rudaments and more about show and nothing of musicality lol

  • what the hell does that mean? so playing music with passion is not really music? you can only have real music with rudiments?

  • no i was refering to the guy on the vid dumbass he doesnt keep tempo verrywell just plays rudaments and if it was about ppl like you it would mean thatyall dont care about the basics and wanna skip everything and go into triplet rolls and flamacues and crap like that

  • haha idiot. its RUDIMENTS. not rudAments. and this is just to basically show what they are. not to keep perfect tempo. damn you guys are so fucking picky! these vids are free lessons, bitches. stop bitching and nit-picking.

  • k dont know who u are but ur probably like in 7th grade or somthin but whatever people need to stop talking to me bout this lol

  • you moron, the tempo is a pattern, just like everyone in percussion in school has used before. slow, fast (as fast as you're comfortable with it), slow, end. GTFO

  • Wow... last time i looked at these videos i was amazed at how fast this guy could play, but after only... i think 4 months i'm practically as faster or faster than him on the rudaments i know.

  • you suck

  • and you are the most suck error

  • you'll find i'm not 'the most suck', as i was replying to some abusive comments by someone else to a new drummer

  • what kind of drum sticks do you have?

  • what a terrible, terrible sounding pad

  • It's not the pad, it's the sticks and the player.

  • god i suck at this...i really need to practice...anyone got any tips

  • Yeah, don't listen to squeezemylever5. What you need to do is break this down- if you haven't mastered your flam, you shouldn't even be working on this yet. What some people don't get about the rudiments is that some of them are progressive- they contain another simpler technique that has to be mastered first. Just like you'll never get good speed on the paradiddle if your double strokes suck, you'll never get these rudiments without develop a good flam led by either hand. Keep playing!

  • These videos are so helpful, really helping my rhythm thanks a million times over.

  • been practicing this one lately, its much easier than other flam rudiments.

  • this dude makes it look real simple to learn

  • damn good pataflaflas
