  • it was so good I reckon you should have put a face to it

  • @tarkstar99: Thank you. It was one of the first videos I uploaded, I was a bit suspicious of showing my face.

  • very good!

  • hey there. can you tell me the name of this picking style? thanks kindly

  • awesome, aoften disagreed if nick play this on steel or nylon, nice job

  • Very, very good!

  • Lol the whistling part made me laugh.

Nice job on the cover :).

  • another fantastic cover. tricky rhythm but you held it right!

  • Bravo - fantastic rendition - Nick might still be alive if had heard your cover (sign of appreciation which he seldom received). 36 year musician on this end.

  • Great Nick cover mate well done..not an easy one to cover

  • good effort tosabi =) do you think you can get the tabs for this?

  • Very nice!

Good taste in song cover selection too.

A little different in style but a great song to cover would be the Kinks' "Nothing In This World Can Stop Me Worrying About That Girl".

Looking forward to your next song whatever it might be.

    Cheers.

PS. I do covers on youtube too but with very poor(beginner) guitar work. I have fun though.

  • Thanks for your comment. Yes, I do like this Kinks song maybe I'll cover it one day. Have fun with your guitar.

  • It's a fantastic attempt, I doubt anyone but Nick himself could get it perfect, I have attempted it a few times but I lack the ability Nick had of controlling the volume of the thumb strikes.

  • fucking awesome mate...keep at it.

  • Nice ..... kep trying

  • Absolubtely phenominal. Never thought id ever see anyone come even close to playing this. For the rest, try playing it before you comment. ITS SOOOO HARD!

  • I agree it is soooo hard, but this is not even close! Much too slow and no meter or rhythm to speak of. I'll post a version soon to show how it's done! Keep at it!

  • Good effort with Road, actually blob on.

All excited for a minute expecting to see a host of Drake stuff, hope you post a few more.....

  • Hanging on a Star would be mind blowing. The picking version though because theres two in circulation. Can send if you havent heard. l8r

  • @musological:

OK, there are rhythmic inaccuracies but my version is not too slow. In my opinion it is one of the better Cello song covers around and yours has not been recorded yet.

  • Your points are well taken. I was perhaps a bit harsh - it is a fantastic effort, and I agree: the best version I have seen. The rhythm could be more constannt though. I will let you know when I record one of my own.

  • what do you mean "not even close"? i think it's very good for such a difficult piece, and in all fairness very recognizable and near to the real version.

  • i'm jealous of your voice

  • MORE VIDEOS NOW!please

  • rhythms a bit out tho

  • Thanks for the close-up tutorial - Cool !

  • You know, tobasi, on the actual recording, Nick uses a thumb-pick for the bass notes (a metal one, I believe), hence how he manages to get that contsant line going with downstrokes AND upstrokes (it's the explanation for that clicking noise as well :p). Just the same though, I gave your performance 5 stars, now all need is a bongo player.

  • Thanks for this. It inspired me to re-learn this song and post my own version. Great right-hand technique.

  • Great finger picking man!

  • good job. i like this better than your things behind the sun

  • Nice effort there

  • dude...this is some seriously good stuff! its always good to see more and more of nicks fans bringing his music to a wider audience. well done.

  • crikey how do you keep the thumb going while picking the higher notes?

  • I`ll think it`s just like a drummer moving his feet and his arms in different patterns, repetition, repetition and repetition... untill you got it in the fingers...

  • wow- never thought I'd be able to see someone play that! Nicely done!

  • nice playing, well done. it couldn't be as easy as you make it seem!

  • your a cross between Nick Drake/Roger Whittaker/Ewan Macall/martin carthy keep it up well done.

  • That was great. I liked that.

  • yeah! you make it look easy. no pinky achoring either, good job!

  • Nice whistling..

  • i like it you re very great

  • tobasi,

great representation of this somewhat enigmatic song. you play it well, making it look so easy. keep the nick drake tunes coming brother. Danny
