  • @EastMidlandsSteam There are two!!! Strongly advise using a bass speaker in tender!!!!!! Also this video is misleading with both whistle and gresly chime as the decoder I bought is not as good

  • Comment removed

  • its has 2 different - one normal LNER type and one Chime

  • Just installed your decoder into my Bachmann Tornado and the gresley whistle does not sound the same!!! Will I have to increase the volume????

  • again wonderful realistic sound

  • Great video! Is the tornado a good runner, does it ever stall? Also how many pickups does it have?

  • sounds great

  • Just fitted your sound to my tornado, and im impressed with the results. I didnt use the base speaker, Sounds loud enough without it!. Im gonna get my own video up with it soon.

  • @a44468 Thank you glad you like it. The Bass speaker is worth fitting though, - you dont have to use its powerful volume, but its the depth of the sound thats impressive

  • @keytesofessex Ive now put the bass speaker in, but im having a problem with a vibration noise. Any advice on how to stop this? thank you.

  • @a44468 maybe you got the volume too loud - anyway phone us and we will help you out

  • @keytesofessex Thank you for sorting it out, i was impressed by the job you did.

  • your welcome, hope you enjoy using it.

    thank you

  • i cant say the sound is a plus for me, perhaps if it were alot quieter it would be better, i would be too drawn to the fact that the sound and wheels dont align. but it is a superb model, i would love to own one of them. im sure i will soon enough lol.

  • It is not a bad engine but there is one bit of etailing that would make it look alot better and that is the speedo cable. I asked Bachmann about this and they said they left it off due to the part getting easily broken. They could of made it an optional part though!

  • not very realistic sry but if u hear the steel scream its cus the wheels have come to a full stop while the load is pushing the engine down the track

  • @thepresident1981 not true. I've heard the screech of train brakes before, and you can clearly see the wheels turning. The screech is more from the brake pads trying to grab the wheels.

  • Wow! That really is good! I would love to do this with my Bachmann Sir Nigel Gresley =D

  • Can this be done on the other Bachmann A1's?

  • yes it can., but you wouldnt need the chime whistle ( first one ) as this is the only A1 that has it.

  • @keytesofessex I was on your website and the product mentions about using a 40X20mm speaker. Does the decoder come with a speaker or is it just the decoder itself?

  • it comes with a basic 23mm speaker as standard. However the new Loksound V4 decoder is now available and this has a better volume so I will experiment with one of those

  • Hi great sounding chip, where did you install the speaker? In the loco or tender and what type of speaker did you fit?

  • Hey can you do a vid on how to install those lights anf fit them to the loco?

  • Again great sound, I've been into DCC for a couple of months , Just going into sound, I used to love these older trains passing the back yard. Robin hood and blue peter were there every week then we moved to black notley and saw a 3MT go along the Braintree to Witham Line, occasionally seeing a castle class loco on the Co-op express to Walton

  • we put the sound in it ourselves

  • Do u have to put the sound in or is it alrady in the Tornado?

  • Could you do a vid on how to fit and install those lights because i wouldn't have a clue how to do so

  • Yeah thanks could you maybe do a vid on how to install them and secure them to the loco? Thanks

  • Okay thanks for that vid suggestion for DCC conversion do you know any vids for how to install those lights and where to get them from and how much. Thanks

  • the lights at around £30 for a pack of six and most good shops will have them.

They are made bt DCC Concepts in Australia

  • hi, thanks very much

the whistle comes on at the operators command, using a digital controller

  • just wanted to know does the whistle go off when you want it to or is it just recorded like that and does the sound corrispond with the soun

love this loco and this video

    thanks Browndog388

  • Hello and thanks for your comment,

the operator chooses as and when the whistle blows using the digital controller

  • Just taking a long shot here but is there any chance you could do a vid of how to convert to dcc and add sound because im going to convert with hornby dcc controller and i need to know how easy it will be

  • somebody has already provided a video, put ...

"Bachmann Class A1 'Tornado' - DCC decoder installation" into the youtube search bar

  • Do you think this and a flying Scotsman will look good double-heading?

  • yes I would think so.

  • Love the A1 great vid how much did it cost and where from?

  • we did it ourselves

  • its the gaugemaster stuff

  • Roy,

    Where's the ballast from ?
