Why people say Mash Allah and ALLAH when he recites? They say that for his recitation or for the words of Allah? I doubt it's for the words of Allah. They spoil every single recitation of Shaykh Abdul Basit.
This recitation is so beautiful. This is truly from god. Let the disbelievers make fun and mock Islam and prophet Muhammad soon will they be called account for what they used to do and say. Wow, the Quran is great but Allah is greater!

@Farooq1wyne I agree with you that this is science, but my understanding is that this will control the pressure in your ear and hence in your nose, this will lead you to be able to make some sounds " idgham" and "ghunnah" better. I sometimes used this technique and could see the difference in reading. Sheikh Abdul Basit's recitation is very good because he recites with passion and his knowledge of tajweed is immense. We all could start just by learning some tajweed and may Allah make us reciters

@ajlapiana after researching the number of translations and versions of the Bible, not only was I amazed...but it validated even more just how the Quran was revealed.
The spirit....was already there, Jesus told people about Muhammad (SAW)...read for yourself! Ask any honest Rabi or Jewish scholar if the Torah speaks of Muhammad...I bet they say yes. After 37 years of searching and the confusion.....upon reading Surah Baqarah and Surah Imran, my soul knew I had arrived upon the truth.

@masrurahmed95 they do that to make the sound sounds better,its the same as you hold your hands behind your ears and then you speak or sing than you will hear that the sound is different and it gives you also a good control over your recitation,

the guy is pretty much singing the quran. i mean isnt this crossing the line? the quran is a book of guidance, not a song to play around with.
also, wouldn't this be considered riyaa'? the reciter is just putting on a show for others. you should recite the quran to please Allah and Allah only, otherwise you fall into riyaa.
This is not crossing any line. Reciting the beautiful Quran in a beautiful is good. Are you saying we should read it in an ugly fashion? Also who says that it is the reciters intention to show off?? Astargfirallah! You SHOULD recite the Quran infront of others to guide them and remind them of Allah subhanwatuallah. Imagine if the Prophet pbuh only kept the Quran for himself, would that have pleased Allah? No you as a muslim should spread the word of Allah in a beautiful way.
The Holy Quran is always recited with little pauses in between verses as the Quran says so that people can ponder on the message. The reciter is putting hands on to his ears and back to mouth and around so he can also taste he beauties he is spreading. You can just close your eyes and recite this ways for a while as a test and you will love it. Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) always used to ask his dears fellows to recite Quran for Him although it was directly revealed upon Him. : )

@hasan7591 There are not many people left who can recite Qur'an properly anymore with good tajweed and stopping where you should stop and not stopping where you shouldn't, etc. He does that and the way the Qur'an is, it's a miracle within itself. So, he's not putting a show on for people. People have asked him to recite because he's one of the few who have mastered the recitation.
@hasan7591 there are many ways 2 recite the quran and if he putting on a show its a good one. the reciter is reciting it in the most beautiful way possible if this is singing then its better than music and no he does defo not fall in riyaa. he is reciting the devine revaltion the most respectful manner and has an amazing tajweed i hymm the quran and if ppl class it as singing then yh im sing the quran for the pleasure of allah. the ppl listining are enjoying it otherwise u would not hear s.a

The man behind him.. at first I was thinking, why is he laughing, why isn't he crying? But I think he's laughing because he loves the recitation so much, you can tell he feels really proud and enjoys Abdulbasit's recitation. Brought a smile to my face. This is not crossing any line. Reciting the beautiful Quran in a beautiful is good. Are you saying we should read it in an ugly fashion? Also who says that it is the reciters intention to show off?? Astargfirallah! You SHOULD recite the Quran infront of others to guide them and remind them of Allah subhanwatuallah. Imagine if the Prophet pbuh only kept the Quran for himself, would that have pleased Allah? No you as a muslim should spread the word of Allah in a beautiful way.

The Holy Quran is always recited with little pauses in between verses as the Quran says so that people can ponder on the message. The reciter is putting hands on to his ears and back to mouth and around so he can also taste he beauties he is spreading. You can just close your eyes and recite this ways for a while as a test and you will love it. Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) always used to ask his dears fellows to recite Quran for Him although it was directly revealed upon Him. : )

@hasan7591 :Sheikh Qari Abdul Basit 'Abd us-Samad one of the best reciter He is the only Qari to have won three world Qirat competitions in the early 1970s. If this is riyaa' then how would you like to recite the quran.. BTW have u ever heard Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais (if not please do) He stands infront of Kaba and does the samething. These are the jewels of islam MashAllah ... brother this is called science of Tajweed..

@hasan7591 There are not many people left who can recite Qur'an properly anymore with good tajweed and stopping where you should stop and not stopping where you shouldn't, etc. He does that and the way the Qur'an is, it's a miracle within itself. So, he's not putting a show on for people. People have asked him to recite because he's one of the few who have mastered the recitation.

@hasan7591 there are many ways 2 recite the quran and if he putting on a show its a good one. the reciter is reciting it in the most beautiful way possible if this is singing then its better than music and no he does defo not fall in riyaa. he is reciting the devine revaltion the most respectful manner and has an amazing tajweed i hymm the quran and if ppl class it as singing then yh im sing the quran for the pleasure of allah. the ppl listining are enjoying it otherwise u would not hear s.a

The man behind him.. at first I was thinking, why is he laughing, why isn't he crying? But I think he's laughing because he loves the recitation so much, you can tell he feels really proud and enjoys Abdulbasit's recitation. Brought a smile to my face. His voice though.. it sends shivers down my spine and brings tears to my eyes. May Allah accept all of his good deeds

salamo alikom, to the brothers below, it is easy to memorise QURAN at any age, i dont want to tell you my story you will say i am lying, alhamdo lillah. the quran is a gift to some people not anybody can memorise it, i am talking by experience, but practice like the other brother said is very helpfull. may ALLAH gives you that gift, ameen. with a lots of love to you all.

may allah lead you on straight path of islam sooner than you wish it may allah also give you ability to recite heres a small example one of muslim hadith custodian al bakahari may allah be pleased with his work.al bakahari he was born blind. his mother prayed to allah everyday and when her son was 11yrs old her prayer was answered she saw her son could see.her son started study islam and became custodian of hadith .you never too late go to your local mosque .slaam
