I will always remember your gentle sway, your special sparkle in your eye as you sang and the wonderful memories you would share about the song you were about to sing. You will ALWAYS be one, if not, the GREATEST and IRREPLACABLE and MOST MISSED Hawaiian musical treasures of all times! Mahalo Piha Auntie...Aloha wau i'a 'oe...Ka'imi ;-)
@12105302 apparently you are not familiar with Hawaiian falsetto singing...that warble at the top is correct for the style of singing,,,her voice is flawless
When I was a little girl (maybe 5 years old), my hula troupe danced on tv (the Lucky Luck Show, remember anybody?) and Aunty Genoa and her group sang for us. Such a nice memory! She was always smiling.
this song reminds me of my grandma she always sings this song when family get togethere its kind of sad now cause shes in a nursing home it makes me cry and sad when i hear this song shes in hawaii and i live in the mainland so always listen to this song and think about her all the time
Think if everyone would differ from the norm as much as the way of singing from pure harmony, follow feelings as much as the songs from these paradise islands, and live in harmony like these songs guide one to live: what an amazing result that would give!
I/we tried it in my social environment some years ago in the other side of the globe in Helsinki in Finland: it produced such an mellow atmosphere that all could just wonder. But it was paradise islands' music! Thank you very much for You all!
We love you Aunti Genoa. We really miss your gold voice.

@12105302 She did that on purpose. It's part of the style of leo ki'eki'e (Hawaiian falsetto).
