Twilight doesn't suck, but The Hunger Games are much better than Twlight to be sure and it IS completely different. That's what makes it so great, is the original plot. It has a certain level or reality to it that Twilight and Harry Potter don't have.

@rhandley1 exactly... b/c this very well COULD be north americas future... but twilight and harry potter could NEVER happen... b/c wizards and vampires DONT exist... so this book could end up being the future of us... and thats one of the elements that make the series so irresistible

THE HUNGER GAMES have not even a "trio".There is no Peeta-Katniss-Gale.

There is Katniss: fight to survive,questioning what's right,inspire people,learn to love. Peeta: do anything for the one you love because that's what matters for you and you BELIEVE in it. it deserves everything. Gale:be stronge,be stubborn,do everything for the ones you love -FAMILY- and make mistakes.

there are MUCH MORE deep characters and nothing like t******t. -.-

The Hunger Games may be very similar to Battle Royale. Both are excellent. But they have a lot of differences. For one, Battle Royale is about the horror of killing friends that you have known forever and turning on them. The Hunger Games is about how bad it would be to kill complete strangers. The Hunger Games also is somewhat of a satire of reality TV. And Battle Royale isn't entirely original either. It itself, Takami, the author said, is inspired by Stephen King's "The Long Walk."

I'm so excited. Though I wouldn't say that they got Katniss's looks and personality, I'll enjoy it all the same. After all, it's one of my favorite books.
