Back when I was little and got a Telstra highspeed line the speeds were fuckin woeful

22kb/s down when it should have been 256kb/s - no wonder shit timed out all the time.

i was with telstra but switche providers i am now on 8mbps unlimited downloads my phone echanged is not adsl2 with the isp i with now but i dont care i am on a faster speed than i was with telstra and the customer service is better than telstra

rofl you're either capped and you don't even know it or you live in a really shit area. I got speeds ranging from 80-110mb/s from Telstra. They're pretty awesome.

@poiuyhn I wasnt over my cap. That was the standard speed. If I went over my cap the internet speed would go down to around 800 bytes a second. It was unusable so we had to use mobile broadband.

Wow dude what a fail I live in Queensland and our Broadband here is 16Mbp/s download speed and 600kb/s upload with very low ping (under 25) xD

Im also with Telstra. You mite of gone over you data allowance? Mines 12GB... Not that much really. I've got the 1.5Mbits/s plan but I only get about 1.2MBit/s on a good day and 800Kbits/s on a bad day and don't forget Telstra counts Uploads as Data usage aswell sortta sucks but hey they gotta make a living while keep Network congestion down.. Oneday Telstra will have superfast cheap braodband but atm I think this old copper network is killing Telstra due to high maintence =/

I was on the standard plan at first but have been upgraded to around 160kb/s but that means my internet somehow goes even faster. After my usage is used up it goes down to 10kb/s. D: Why cant it be like internet in the UK? The internet I had wasnt the fastest but it was unlimited, the speed was around 150kb/s and there were no limits what-so-ever.

@MiracleStudios The Australian Government NBN will fix that once they finish it.. It will provide 90% of Australian homes with 100Mbit/s connection speeds which it's 12.5MB/s I think so it will be nearly 80 times faster then what you got now and it's Fibre Optic so I think the Latency goes way down aswell... Just hope it won't be capped

it means you used up all your download. you start of with x amount of GB and each time you download something you waist x amount of download so if you want to download with no limits get unlimited broadband. and if you get unlimited broadband your internet speed will be awesome not 0.20kbps it will be something way higher.
