AMERICAN PEOPLE ATTENTION! REAGAN OPENED EYES TO SOVIET UNION, NOW RUSSIA IS BECOMING CAPITALISTIC COUNTRY, I NEED UR VOTE , WHO THINKS WE SHOULD RENAME REAGAN AIRPORT INTO CLINTON AIRPORT?
Kanard: He had a chance to win, he owes it to his supporters...
He really didn't. Huckabee was going to take a couple more Southern states and McCain and Romney would have split the rest. McCain would have still ended up on top.
He owes it to his supporters to try and make sure that the tax hiking, socialist Democrats don't take the office next year.
Here's a great quote from Joan Venocchi's column in the Boston Globe (2/7/08)...
"Romney won every state he lived in - Michigan, Utah, and Massachusetts. In the Bay State, he defied the local media and former governors Paul Cellucci and Jane Swift to win the primary. He has enough capital, but, unfortunately, not enough time, to set up residence in those states yet to vote. So, he can't count on any more home-court advantage."
Adios Mitt. You WON'T be missed! Glad to see you go.
This is great--whats the ignorant "base" of the gop to do now that mcain is going the nomination. I'll bet even the conservatives who say they won't vote will vote for another four years of bush economic, domestic and foreign policies. Pathetic!
Mitt really gave a great speech. Too bad the conservatives would not support him and had to go with liberal McCain. Conservatives...you got what you wished for. Of course living in Indiana as I do, we Hoosiers never get to choose as we don't vote until May! Romney would have made a great choice for President. Now all we have is the smartest woman in the world, Obama or liberal McCain. Phew! That stinks.
He left because it shows your little conpiracy's are bullshit. all I kept hearing fro mron pau lsupporters was how the illuminaty or new world order had selected hillary or guiliani to become the new president. Then when giuliani dropped out ,it was certain that mitt romney would be the nominee for the GOP. Wel lguess what ,wrong again, 100 yrs Mccain won and hopefully on the other sie obama will win. So atleast the right wing of your country will have little power for the next 4 years hopefully
Do not generalize, it shows you ignorance to do so. My theory was a bit different and it is yet to be proven wrong.
I believe the liberal media has everyone brainwashed, and have pushed their candidates to be the ones on top, they want the worst possible republican and most warmongering for that matter so he will be easy to beat, but when the beast got strong they turned against him, look at their support grow sour for McCain in the following days.
Lol so now it's the media's fault. I think fox news brainwashed you guys when you all voted for bush.........TWICE. Look at the mess that dumbass made and now again it's up to a democrat to clean up after a dumb republican president. honestly has there ever been a smart one? Ohh yeah Nixon was his name right? lol Between 20 years of reagan bush Sr. Bush jr there aint a braincell in sight but ofcourse they made president because al democrats were shot death by redneck loosers
Well I didn't vote for any of them. And you keep generalizing, and if you paid attention you would realize that the media has a lot of power if that is the only place you get your information from.
I rather get informatio nfro mprofessionals and sort it out acording to the facts. Then the internet that is filled with lies and hate internet pages and hate/conspiracy video's. Those are quite frankly alot more dangewrous, you know why? It's because peopel like you automaticly take those as the truth instead of checking if this person who posted it isnt soem kind of nutcase liek alex jones or something. Tv is bad but the internet is worse. You can find pages that say the earth is still flat!!!
I'm aware of that, but I have a healthy amount of scepticism and my own judgement of things, I don't take it all for truth. I used to believe the news was a bit more truthful than what I've come to see them now. The media is an amazing tool, entire countries have used it to indoctrinize their people with lies. USA's media is not reporting the truth, it is missing information or it is biased and twisted.
ok, if you can do that's, that's good for you. No I mean it as an example how far some websites go in denying facts, like the very obvious fact that the world is indeed round as a ball. (well not reall yas a ball but anyway thats a whole other discussion). But I still fear for the younger generation who are gnna believe everythign o nthe internet and distrust anything else even if it's the truth...
He didn't feel that he had enough delegates to catch up to McCain and he wants McCain to begin a national campaign in order to beat the Democrats. The sooner the Republican party unites the better chance we have to beat the very enthusiastic Democrats in NOV.
He did it because he is smart, could care less about his own glory, and wants what is best for the U.S.: conservative judges, conservative economic policies, strong national defense
Romney got over 4 million votes compared to McCain's 4.7 million; McCain won delegate rich states (that are going to vote Democrat in November either way).
He could have EASILY divided the Republican party. He chose not to do so.

No arguement here.
Ron Paul may have had a chance in the primaries at one point but it's over now.

Well Romney left, his delegates can vote Ron Paul, as long as he is in the race there is hope. I don't understand why Romney left...weird!

Romney explained why he left in his speech.

You are the one trying to sell bridges, grazon.
smpf38 4 years ago
I doubt this self sacrifice from him...more likely he was loosing too many millions.
kanard7 4 years ago
The millions don't matter. He was going to lose the race. That is what matters.
Huckabee showed no signs of leaving, so ...
Can you think of a good, honorable rational for Romney to stay in it to the end?
smpf38 4 years ago
He had a chance to win, he owes it to his supporters, and if he believed he was the best for the job he could have fought further.
Or maybe there was a scandal about him someone threaten to unleash if he didn't...now that I'm just gossiping, but it could happen.
