I met Freddie in a Sheffield hospital not long before he died. He cracked me up with naughty jokes. When I'm in Manchester I stay with Dreamer Derek (the blonde with dark shades) and he's super nice. Very silly too. Pete Birrell, the bassist in glasses, was a LOT of fun. I played bingo with him and Derek and others in Manchester one night and we really got silly. Bernie the drummer died in 2003. Their 60s fan club pres gave me a stuffed bear they found in his house.
The shot at about from 31 to 34 seconds is showing a back view of John Lennon (Beatles) when they played Australia. Also, the girl screaming at around 1:11 is another clip from a Beatles concert. Not sure about the screaming kids at the end, but my guess would be also from a Beatles concert.
A great song which proves that Freddie and the boys didnt need to lark about, but it does prove how good they were that they could still produce great music . I dont get the beatles clip in this scene though ????.Freddies best recording after I Will
This song, along with "A Little You," are, in my opinion, Freddie and the Dreamers' best recordings. "A Little You" is edgy (for them), while this is charming. I like that the clip is in color, too.
I saw Freddie & The Dreamers many years ago at some massive theatre in Great Yarmouth. He was one crazy Little guy with an astounding voice. As well as all the amusing tunes we love to hear try & get to listen to some of the other material on "A best of" - You'll be surprised how good this band was.
If you look closely at 0.30 sec, there was a clip of the beatles, John was singing Twist And Shout...that segment was the most sane moment hahaha...but i do like Freddie And The Dreamers, they never took the whole stardom thingy too seriously...RIP Freddie...
Also, the blonde in the audience is from a Beatles concert in Manchester in 1963-She is very British and not at this Freddie and the Dreamers concert in the States-The clip of John Lennon from the back is from the Hard Days Night film
Freddie really did have a great voice. I like to think his goofy performing habits were his stamp of individuality. He seems more 'real' than most pop performers.
I have searched high and low, thank you for giving me this video! I saw it years ago on and have looked ever since. I think he was handsome and adorable and had a terrific voice! He will be missed.
I think Freddy had one of the best quality voices in pop music. If he wanted to, he probably could have been a great crooner like Sinatra, Vic Damone, or Jack Jones. The guy had a great set of pipes.
This clip was from the movie "Out of Sight", released in 1966, and directed by Lennie Weinrib. The plot, which was marginal, involved espionage and spies, but the real highlight was Freddie and company.
I think it may be from a movie that was with Herman Hermits called "Hold On" but I'm not sure...Bob Eubanks was a LA dj, and Hold ON Was done in LA at this same time
I first met Freddie in 2001 in his hospital room in Sheffield. It was non-stop jokes with that guy! He even had the nurses in stitches, or else they were just annoyed with him!
I've watched this video at least a couple of dozen times since I found it on youtube last week, and I never get sick of it. I think Freddy had a great voice. Do you know if Freddy was in complete control of his career and was naturally zany, or did some agent or producer put him up to having a clownish schtick? In this video he's very subdued, though.
Great Song ! Thanks EMI, for finally releasing this song on the Ultimate Collection! What a beautiful voice. Easily the best singer of the 60's British Invasion ! R.I.P. Freddie..
Until recently, my memories of Freddie and The Dreamers was only of "The Freddie"...that crazy dance they did!!!! But the more I watch, the more I remember what a great group they were.....

Agree. People concentrate on the silly stage act, but Freddie was really a wonderful singer; very clear and direct.
