I do not agree with many things that are happening in Bahrain and refuse to be associated with a certain sect or label that this "revolution" has created but as a Bahraini, I urge you to look at the big picture and really understand what is going on before making accusations that may be false.

Hey Bret, i just learned some facts. Those "mosques" that were demolished were not but places that were built illegaly without permission and i also heard that sunni illegaly built places were also demolished .
Also I heard that there are in bahrain 700 mosques for shia and 600 husainia (shiite madrassa) and only 439 sunni mosques.
Why this Mushriq is not protesting about what Americans are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. You can't say much about Israel nowadays. A few days ago I made the unfortunate choice of putting a picture of Israel's flag crossed out with a red line, on my FB profile, as a statement. Didn't take long and I started getting threats from Jews that they will get me banned from Facebook, because according to them I attacked their religion and ethnicity. Outrageous, the way they try to intimidate and muzzle us. Freedom of expression my foot. Not when it comes to them.
Is it not shia muslims just wanting there religion to be in power, not sunni. correct me if I'm wrong I just have this feeling. But I can see that the government has obvious humanitarian issues with the arresting of wounded/medical practitioners. Although a couple of good friends from my uni are from Bahrain, and there saying that there's not much to complain about since Bahrain is tax free and its "just a bunch of Arabs wanting something for nothing" was quite surprised by what he said. ?
Correction: The building destroyed weren't Mosques they were Mutams, maybe 2 to 3 out of all these buildings were "Mosques", or were suppose to be. I drive pass the areas where these so-called Mutams/mosques exist and believe me, they are taking half the road, unlicensed, built with bare-hands with wood and cloth by people themselves - It's a place of gathering, not worship - The government believes the gatherings was related to arranging protests and did what it did to the unlicensed 'mosques'.

About your question on why the government doesnt care...The American government isnt outraged, because it doesnt care. It only becomes outraged when it suits them. As a Muslim, I cant believe that a Muslim, whatever sect, would be okay with destroying a MOSQUE! How ironic. I think the problem is that Bahrain has a Sunni leader despite the shia dominance in the country. There are other countries where the opposite is true. I dont know the whole story though.

The main reasons why Saudi has such an interest in Bahrain is firstly to back a Sunni regime, secondly to avoid a shia regime as the majority of Bahraini's are Shia and thirdly to keep Iran from getting their grimey hands on it. The US media have around the clock coverage of what's going on in Libya and Syria, but not Bahrain. Just because Bahrain & Saudi governments are allies of the US, this doesn't mean that the US should support these regimes no matter how brutal they are. We must support all people who ask for freedom and dignity. Plz speak about it.

It's probably not a major U.S. news network because the mainstream media has "filters" at work, meaning that it filters out (i.e. doesn't report) stories about the "unworthy victims" of our allies, our allies in this case being the Saudi and Bahraini govt. Note that it's not the people of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who are the US's allies, but rather their governments (which serve in the US interest).

Also I heard that there are in bahrain 700 mosques for shia and 600 husainia (shiite madrassa) and only 439 sunni mosques.

Correction: The building destroyed weren't Mosques they were Mutams, maybe 2 to 3 out of all these buildings were "Mosques", or were suppose to be. I drive pass the areas where these so-called Mutams/mosques exist and believe me, they are taking half the road, unlicensed, built with bare-hands with wood and cloth by people themselves - It's a place of gathering, not worship - The government believes the gatherings was related to arranging protests and did what it did to the unlicensed 'mosques'.

About your question on why the government doesnt care...The American government isnt outraged, because it doesnt care. It only becomes outraged when it suits them. As a Muslim, I cant believe that a Muslim, whatever sect, would be okay with destroying a MOSQUE! How ironic. I think the problem is that Bahrain has a Sunni leader despite the shia dominance in the country. There are other countries where the opposite is true. I dont know the whole story though.

The main reasons why Saudi has such an interest in Bahrain is firstly to back a Sunni regime, secondly to avoid a shia regime as the majority of Bahraini's are Shia and thirdly to keep Iran from getting their grimey hands on it. Iran just like Saudi have their own intentions, and want a government they can influence. The US government supports the Bahraini government as does the Saudi government because they don't want to Bahrain to fall under the sphere of influence of Iran and there are racial prejudices against Shia's in much of the Arab world.....

The US media have around the clock coverage of what's going on in Libya and Syria, but not Bahrain. Just because Bahrain & Saudi governments are allies of the US, this doesn't mean that the US should support these regimes no matter how brutal they are. It's probably not a major U.S. news network because the mainstream media has "filters" at work, meaning that it filters out (i.e. doesn't report) stories about the "unworthy victims" of our allies, our allies in this case being the Saudi and Bahraini govt. Note that it's not the people of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who are the US's allies, but rather their governments (which serve in the US interest).

Alot of the blame of the muslim states fall on themselfes (ourselfes) and particularly the strong ones (Arabs) who refuse to lift up/help the weaker muslim countries...hell even persecute them. Im sure the Syrian goverment is not clean either, but Arabs holding meetings while Lebanon/Palestine is being bombarded and doing nothing is unforgivable.
