@lucas66568 The game would actually have to be patched to play level 142, because the maze is empty. In layman's terms, it tries to draw the maze from a section of memory that doesn't hold maze data. This causes it to overwrite memory outside the screen RAM, which the game detects as an error, and reboots. (An 11-byte patch is all it would take to fix the bugs and make the game playable indefinitely.)

1 question about the increasing levels:

in which way do the levels get harder? higher "Ai", more speed or what?

@777digger777: AI never changes. Throughout levels 1-20 there are speed changes for both Ms. Pac and ghosts, with the red ghost speeding up toward the end of the levels earlier. (It changes "gears" 4 times). Increasingly shorter blue times on the energizers. Levels 21+ are all the same, and are called "slow" levels because the ghosts are always moving slightly faster than Ms. Pac which is much harder than the previous 20!!! Energizers simply reverse ghosts on 21+.

I hate the levels before that, the ones that have the maze flipped and you go through the visible walls and get blocked by the invisible walls. You have to picture yourself where you are going and watch out for the real Ms. Pac-Man so she doesn't hit the ghosts either. It's tricky!

There is ONE point in this video however, with the version of Mame that was being used for this video, that has a problem compared with the arcade machine. Can you see it? Although, they'd need to be slightly reprogrammed, or they'd all be hopelessly lost, because Inky's decisions depend both on where Ms. Pac is, and where Red is.
