I LOVE this scene! The dude with the glasses is puro Cubano like myself. I enjoy how they talk about the pastelistos getting you gordo. Castillo is such a great character and Eddie Olmos is badass. What a grand series this is!

Season 4 was a big step down, but it was still much, much better than the steamy pile of crap that was season 5. The show went from a credible cop drama that had built of years of credibility into something like the campy Batman series of the 60s.

that's the reason i started "hating" miami vice in season 4! well, i love it.. i never really hated anything of it.. it's just, castillo got toooooo friendly.. and he talked toooo much! and i hated that.. it just wasn't THE "castillo"..

@EXTENDED91 Well, since Olmos's contract gave him full creative control of the character, I guess he felt it was appropriate. Reminds me of some Drill Sargents I knew, actually. Nobody can be that way all the time.

Season 4 has literally the best episodes of Miami Vice and the worst. The Big Thaw and that Alien one, so BAD!!!

@chabadoogi Nah, man. It had like 5-10 great episodes, and the rest were shit. But even episodes like "Mirror Image" or "Child's Play" were nowhere near the level of the best season 1 episode (i.e. McCarthy, Smuggler's Blues).

Yeah, I've heard season 4 was the worst. I'm watching season 1 at the moment and it's been damn good. I'm watching Milk Run and it's a fine ep so far, showing how kids can easily be drawn into a life of crime.
