  • Dammit,it,, Slocum! When are you going to give some FTTH? Or at least a DSLAM and some high-speed copper? It's 2011 and DIAL-UP SUX!

Welcome to the 19th century, Canada!

  • And the old guy was Larry Mann who did was the voice of Yukon Cornelius!

  • Thanks for the info! I've been trying to figure out who he was for ages. He's also in all the old Telecom/Bell "grapplegrommit" spots from the early 80s.

  • "Ludlow! You've ran up the highest phone bill in the company!"

  • @Parkwaymania - Larry Mann voiced characters in other Rankin-Bass productions. He was Rusty the Tin Man in "Tales of the Wizard of Oz", and Foxy Q. Fiddle in "The New Adventures of Pinocchio".

When Rankin-Bass was just starting out, they came to Canada in search of voice talent, since radio drama was dead in the USA. Bernard Cowan (CBC announcer) became their first voice director (& voice of the spotted elephant & the Bumble, in "Rudolph"), & he rounded up the Canadian voice talent.
