It does not matter how educated you are, or what your profession is. If you are not critically analyzing what you believe in then you are being dumb. Many people quick to jump on someone for calling christians stupid are encouraging them to maintain their ignorance. Even highly educated people believe in gods and other superstitions because they fail to take the time to critically analyze what they are believing in. They just skip over that but are willing to do it with everything else.

There were many instances in the New Testament where Jesus infers that he is god. Ex: "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30). Jesus never out right said he's god, but he sure implied the hell out it. If I was to argue the emperor of mars created the universe and you argued God did, we'd be in the same position, there is absolutely nothing other than using the 'God of the gaps' to show created the universe. Just because we don't know the reason for why the universe is here doesn't mean you can label God the answer.

I find it both strange and fascinating that when I ask some of my Christian friends if they have read the Bible completely, the answer is often no. Reading that book has alot of...terrible things in it. I mean in Mark 21:18-21, Jesus condemns a fig tree to death for not giving him a fig to eat. And it wasnt even fig season!

Obviously you're not religous,but the theme of my religion at least is that your life on earth decides your life after death. The concept of "hell" is where one would go if they wasted this life and were full of sin. According to bible: Heaven life is paradise compared to earth.

I definitely respect your comment, but.... And again, at least in my religion, life is supposed to be a sort of "trial" if that makes sense. Heaven is not guaranteed to anyone without living their time on earth as righteous as they could have lived it. Again, my point is heaven is described as being a completely different and more peaceful existence than earth without any of the problems or hassles. You're supposed to care what happens here because it decides where you end up.

There were many instances in the New Testament where Jesus infers that he is god. Ex: "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30). Jesus never out right said he's god, but he sure implied the hell out it. But I personally liked that Jesus is Criss Angel thing much better. After all, they've both walked on water and have many devout followers.

It's scientifically inaccurate, it was written by primitive men, it's the only source and it's is comprised of hearsay and anecdotal evidence. @fusionshredder Primitive in the sense that their knowledge was limited to what they knew at the time. People back then still thought the world was flat and on pillars. That's not to say that there weren't geniuses of their time and that we don't use any of there work. Hell, the first caveman who invented the wheel was probably a genius of his time. And the wheel's a great invention that's still use today but that doesn't make the caveman any less primitive.

One answer I got for why believe was because this lady felt peace after believing it. {yeah} Then I learned that there was some historical evidence that Jesus lived and found a couple books about evidence. Anyways, I've also seen a few things that make me want to stay a believer. I'm sorry you had this experience. I hope that you stay open to whatever evidence comes your way, either way.

Would you prefer a God that treated you as an automaton? No doubt according to the Christian theology, God could prevent humans from being evil--but where would the lesson be in that? Being stripped of free will in that way would destroy evil but also the central part of our humanity. Sorry. Fail.

They speak with certainty that God doesn't exist, as if the universe, and the elements point to God's in-existence. The fact is that their corrupted belief system will not defeat God's plan.
