Me and my brother have nearly finished refurbing a metro gti. I only joined him 2 years ago to help him with it but been good. Not finished yet but very close. Been off the road since 2005 and hasnt been in the rain for 4 years lol. It was rusty but many new parts have been fitted along with the black paint (forgot its name.. tetro seal??). Its strange how the whole car rusts but the engine sounds like new. We put the first bit of trim back last week, good moment :D. You still got your gti?

well ive never driven a metro but i would say i would have this over a (insert resent car here) but hey good on you guys for not driving a 106 206 or saxo or any french car.

my uncles freind owns a garage and when ever some mentions a french car he always says crap and i can see why. i dont see the the point of doing up a car to lool good and sound good if it will just die on you. (waste of hard earned cash) so good on you for not doing up a french car!

I really like these, driven a couple, one of them a rallycross car. A friend of mine had a 1.8 chucked in one, amusing Q car. Jaggass makes a good point though, the head gaskets on the k series 1.4's blow like a motherfucker. 10 foot long head bolts FTL!

Why do we like these cars? Because despide no power stearing, air bag or a strater moter that can cope with cold mornings, these cares are the most fun to drive I've evr had. I have a k reg 1.4 gti, i can cruise arround town with ease and if i have a desire to, out-run the wannabee dug dealers who spent daddys money on the latest suburu/pergeot/whatever.
