In my opinion, USC was the best team in the nation in 2008 and should have been allowed to play for a national title. They should have been given the benefit of the doubt even with that loss to oregon state, a fluke no doubt.

what are you talking about???? the Rose Bowl??? doesn't that go to the Pac 10 vs Big 10? heaven forbid they break tradition & they never will! the Sugar Bowl is reserved for SEC vs ACC or a BCS qualifying team. Hawaii was undefeated with Colt Brennan, Georgia was 10-2. Everyone thought Hawaii was gonna pass all over them until what...6 sacks later they pulled Colt from the game. NOBODY started saying it should've been USC v UGA until AFTER the bowl games were played.

Usually, yes....however in Dec. 2007 an invitation was given to the Univ of GA to come and play because Ohio St earned there right to play in the BCS Championship game. However, GA turned down the bid to play in Sugar Bowl against a lesser opponent - Univ. Of Hawaii.
You should look up some facts before you start rambling off.

Now the one you are whining about in 2003, USC won the AP College Football National Championship award. Now the AP College football Poll was started in 1934.
Now the first BCS poll was in 1998. So USC did win the national Championship in 2003 just like they have won the AP poll in previous years.

Yes...but Florida did not score 70 points on Arkansas.
And I don't quite remember their pulling off a shut out on Auburn at Auburn.
Nor did they score 55 points on Oklahoma.
And they actually allowed Ohio State to score not one but 2 touchdowns on them.
I would love to see USC vs Florida in the title game. SEC fans are so full of their own crap and they need to be shown the error of their ways. Yours is not the only Conference that can play football.

Being that the PAC 10 has released more running backs in the NFL by far than any other conference I would feel lame by your statement. Rodgers is a force to reckon with and he will only get better. SEC put down some major money for the next 10 (now 9) years with ABC/ESPN to get broadcasted. This helped their votes across the board. Being the PAC10 went 6-0 in bowl games this year. USC is 16-0 VS SEC teams and has major football history. SEC's prime teams were Alabama and Florida through the year. You criticize that Florida doesn't schedule out of conference...yet what you don't realize is that the SEC has 2 more teams in its conference and has to play more inner-conference games to determine the champion, including the SEC game. And the last time I checked, we don't have as many cupcake teams in the SEC that the Pac 10 has. Last year UF played more teams that went to bowl games than any other team in the nation with 10. 6 teams USC played didn't go bowling.
