They are soooo good and are highly addictive. Try pears and kiwi. The kiwis are really zingy, we were totally surprised at how they turned out. AMAZING!!! plums are really good too.
I love dehydrated apples! I went apple picking with friends and got a huge bag of apples and dehydrated them with a little lemon juice and cinnamon. Unfortunately, the boyfriend smelled and saw them and ate them all in one go! If you live with a pig, look for a good hiding place!
I re-read the booklet and I turned up the heat to 135 degrees. It took less than 2 days but not what the book said. My husband thought it was a damp day and that may have affected it?
I couldn't tell if your storage area was a freezer or refrigerator. I'm not sure where to put mine where they'll last up to a year. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the information. :)
As long as they are fully dehydrated and make a "click" sound when you drop them on the counter, they will last for a year. Be prepared, they're DELICIOUS & if your family know where they are, they will disappear! Of course keeping them in the freezer will be fine too, but not needed as long as they are fully dehydrated.
Your dehydrator's heater or fan might be broken or they were cut too thick. Ive dehydrated all kinds of fruits & veggies & nothing ever took longer that 12 hours - even the thickly sliced items.
Just so you know....you can make your own cinnamon sugar for WAY cheaper than buying it....just mix white sugar with ground cinnamon! Easy, cheap and saves money!
Thats good stuff! I want one of those leskos is it.

My dehydrator is one of those white round ones. It said to dry for 6 to 12 hours but mine took about 5 days! That is too much electricity I think.
