In order for Broly to transform in to the Lssj his body height mustbe in proportion with his muscle mass which rips out from his previous form the normal ssj form. The reason his hair is blue/purple is because of the mind control device which his father forced on his head if you notice all the other times where he does not have it on his hair is yellow or whatever.

Broly massacre's ssj2 gohan in broly's second coming. And to begin with LSSJ was able to control a limitless amount of ki but in the Multiverse they changed it so that there was a capped amount that he could control. In short LSSJ is around the same as PFSSJ 2 but probably slightly less as i already mentioned his power was capped in movie 8 (manga is completely different on this, but broly is only a movie character so he is non-cannon no matter how you look at it haha :P)
