  • Paul Masvidal is incredibly under rated. He's a good guitar player, don't get me wrong. Chuck is great and all, he's like the Dave Mustaine or Jeff Waters of this band, Legendary guitarists and songwriting and can sing. But ya got to give Paul some credit too.

  • i think im the only death fan who isnt a big fan of masvidal hahaha

  • paul masvidal is insane in these solos

  • Death has to be the best band ever. They never had a bad song because chuck always put his entire soul into every album.

  • @farrell4599590 agreed, I'm yet to find a Death song I dislike, the only other band I can say the same for personally is Pantera

  • Death rules.... From Scream bloody gore to Sound of pereseverance. .... Peace... Desmond SOn

  • which song/solo at 1:30?

  • @RockingMarshall secret face

  • Comment removed

  • No one will ever reach this ....

  • Melodic minor solos FTW

  • god dam ,, i love all his work, i feel him playing ,he played as a god would in the midtz of a battle called ''life'',i fuckin love you chuck and allways will!

  • who agrees with me that human and symbolic has the greatest solos ever?

  • @rainbowchickenfish I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED CHUCK'S WORK ALTHOUGH MY FAVORITE ALL TIMES DEATH ALBUM IS SPIRITUAL HEALING, JAMES MURPHY WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD REACH CHUCK'S TALENT IMHO

  • The 3 dislikes will end up like the corpses on the cover if I find out who they are.

  • @CaptKaboom FUCK YEA!

  • Fake.

  • Chuck makes Death metal looks better than all the music genres in the world together!! \m/ >_< \m/

  • @MagnumBullets47 Agreed. All the music genres in the world combined would just be static noise.

  • All due credit to Chuck, but god damn it Masvidal's solos are so fucking beautiful.

  • BA-ZINGA!!!

  • these solos are almost to good to listen, they seem to spoil anything else that comes afterwards... kinda brings death to anything else ;))

  • that jizzed my paints at 4:09

  • the best 6:34 minutes of my life...

  • Damn that Secret Face solo kicks so much ass

  • nthis is zazzy, no more zazz needed

  • Спасибо большое за подборочку!

  • This are not human solos, THEY ARE INHUMAN!

  • 2:17 + ftw Cheers!!

  • haha, nice that you're having Scott Carino's bass solo on Cosmic Sea in there.

  • Very special kind of metal, so progressive , so smart , organic , well done. Chuck was very unique (except) his vocal...

  • Human Fuckin ROCKS. by far it is my favorite Death album, and a close second is Scream Bloody Gore.

  • I can't describe what a genious Chuck is, his compositions are out of this world, he's simply in comparable

the thing i can't understand is untalented fuckin horse poopers like Justin bieber and lady gaga is making money for generations to come...but a prodigy like Chuck Schuldiner had no money to pay his hospital bills!!...what a fucked up world we live in

  • What Chuck did on those 6 strings God couldn't do in 7 days...

  • @RICKYFALL heuheuheuheuheuheuh epic phrase man !!! still metal !!!

  • Chuck Norris thought he was god...until he met Chuck Schuldiner.

  • My favorite ALL-TIME song by Death is "Human Solos". Fuckin' awesome song the lyrics say that human's such as Chuck Schuldiner can shred like a God.

  • Human was the best line up imo, but I do think Paul and Sean are better in Cynic, but both are fucking incredible bands

  • @GenkeiNoHattori55

you make this video polluted, with your stupid comments, which mention these bitches

  • @darkdrageon oh okay sorry... *moves away* ...

  • @GenkeiNoHattori55

Thanks, if you make comments about shit, shit becomes important.

  • @darkdrageon You didn't need to be so harsh.. I mean, I thought Metalheads are nice to Metalheads and gangsters fight with other gangsters.... >.>

  • @GenkeiNoHattori55 You got a point.

But Metalheads have betters thinks worry about than popular music, tough the term "metalhead" doesn't exists to me.

  • @darkdrageon I see.. Alright then. Thanks xD

  • epic tapping 3:31

  • jeses christ how did chuk die? i feel soo baddd not knowing how he died

  • @Jr3ll chuck had brain cancer.. somewhere in 1900-2000 somwhere in those years it came , he fighted it back , it vanished , but in 2001 it came again he had no money for an operation just for meds, but those meds just made him weaker , so he died at the 13. of december in 2001 :(

RIP Chuck "the father of death metal" Schuldiner

  • Chuck is not dead, he is Death

  • @sh1nodaaa all chuck norris jokes also apply to chuck schuldiner.

  • Chuck is the king of death metal

  • "Death - Human solos". Well, I don't see the human side on this solos.

  • Chuck is living on top of Crystal Mountain now

  • @Yackinthebox187 chuck is far from livin on the church/ crystal mountain

  • Human and Symbolic are his best works, period

  • chuck norris fears chuck shuldiner

  • @uberpwnage223 In other words, Schuldiner is the ultimate Chuck/Human being/Deity

  • whats the guitar hes holding at 1:22?

  • Why must good musicians die young Chuck Schuldiner, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, seriously, why?

  • @Taboas2013 i dont presume to know god, but we damn sure have some questions for him.

  • @Taboas2013 lol all those ppl died of drugs or inluenced exept chuck or idk bout lenon but. yes they where all great

  • @awesomolopolis64 well, not all of them died of drugs, John Lennon was shot and Kurt Cobain was either killed or commited suicide, but yeah, all of them were influenced by drugs except for Chuck. Still, my point is that the best musicians die young most of time :'(

  • @Taboas2013 ino man like all chuck did was like drink and smoke pot, medicinal too, and he created a whole knew genra

chucks like my hero. thats wut i want to say

  • @awesomolopolis64 actually Chuck didn't really invent Death Metal, he just brought is to the mainstream, It's a common mistake, I used to think that too but I did some research and found out that Chuck didn't really invent Death Metal, he still kicks ass though

  • @Taboas2013 who did tho?

  • @awesomolopolis64 the band Possesed, they are considered the first death metal band but since at the time they were considered just thrash metal and death metal was brought to the mainstream by Chuck, he is thought to have invented death metal, it's just like Kurt Cobain with grunge, he didn't invent it but he brought it to the mainstream

  • @Taboas2013 that is so ture, u are truely. an encyclopidea of metal

  • @Taboas2013 I looked that up, Possessed released a demo in '83 titled "Death Metal"....but Death (which was under the name Mantas) released a demo in '83 called Death By Metal...but I saw in an interview, Chuck himself said that Venom was the first death metal band

  • Comment removed

  • @Taboas2013 good point, that's the way it is. look at Dark Angel's "The Burning of Sodom", or any other song from the Darkness Descends album for example... it's stylistically similar to Death's early material, but it was released in '86, and they're considered thrash metal...

  • Yeah, good old times, Death Human and Individual + Cynic Focus, excellent masterpieces. I used to know every little accent on those albums (not play unfortunately :-) too young, too unexperienced, then abandoned drumming when grown up due to life commitments and lack of time ), but hell yeah, that was IT ! Still enjoy listening to those albums.

  • lol wtf no one cares about list of your favorite guitar players, we're here to WORSHIP CHUCK

    2.Andy LaRocque

    3.Trey Azagthoth

    4.James Murphy

    5.Kerry King

  • Kerry?!!! He isn't even in the same universe as those legends. Paul Masvidal is more like it....

  • chuck is and always be in our hearts.. true metal god.. writter visionnary .. entertainer.. father of death metal.. the one and only.. . r.i. p chuck we miss your ingeniosity .. breathe -taking solos.. and sense of humor.. .. a true death metal artist.. #1 always and forever

  • Chuck was the best

    My top 5 guitarists are

    1.) Chuck Schuldiner

    2.) David Gilmore

3.) Steve Vai (his older stuff)

    4.) Vinnie Moore

    5.) Michael Akerfeldt

plus guys like malmsteen, jeff loomis etc.. but chuck RULES!!!

  • i love death

  • this is great! Can you do this with Symbolic too? and perhaps Individual Thought Patterns?

  • This is one of the most amazing death metal albums!

Chucks the best and always will be!

    RIP

  • Totally agree - way better than King/Hammett/Mustaine/Dimebag/Hanneman/Friedman - although I do rate those guys very highly.... Chuck #1 forever!!!!

  • true... my top 5 guitarists is

    1. Chuck Schuldiner

    2. Dimebag

    3. Hammett

    4. Friedman

    5. Rhoads

  • @xXMetallica4everXx

great list man, for me all these guitarrist fucking melt my face off, but for me all are number 1

  • you forget paul masvidal!!

  • @xXMetallica4everXx You have kirk above friedman and rhoads lol? Fail.

  • @Intotheorchard dude get over it! metallica fanboys are lame...

i found a comment on a video of Impious(fucking awesome band) he was saying that Lars Ulrich is some sort of god drummer LOL!

  • @i5Alex I don't get how someone could even put Kirk on a top ten list. Even the best guitar solos he has written, are boring in comparison to so many other players.

  • @Intotheorchard I totally agree, the only really memorable solo I have ever heard from him is the one in Fight fire with Fire, and that was with Hetfield

  • I hope you're a fuckin retard, if you're talkin about mustaine instead of shuldiner, and actually saying that metallica was better, with hammett. You should die, die, die!!!

  • I apologize for talking about anything other than death, who cares about a stupid comment when it comes to shit of this quality. Just listen and learn.

  • @supertzar11 you obviously have no idea about what I was talking about, so I hope YOUR fuckin retarded

I was commenting on how metallica solos are not memorable like death solos, and then I went on to say how I believed the only one I like was the one for the Fight Fire with Fire, from Metallica`s second album. I said nothing about chuck shuldiner, or dave mustaine, and I firmly believe that you are the one who should DIE DIE DIE, as you so childishly put it

    Fuck you

  • Hammet? that's funny

  • @xXMetallica4everXx hammett? oooohh wait...

    you nickname is metallica4ever =s

  • @guitarralaraja that was 1 year ago I have a total different opinion now...

  • Ohh fuck Cosmic Sea a fucking masterpiece.. all the solos are beautiful , nice vid

  • First of all... If you got the CD of Death, you'll see that Chuck did write his solos. Paul too did his solos on the album, but Chuck wrote all the music on the album "Human"... As for the solos they were by both Chuck and Paul. I've got the CD that confirms it... See ya

  • 4:01 On the black Stealth Chuck has the Pick of Destiny! That explains why he played like a God.

  • im pretty sure thats just a green .88 Dunlop pick... but perhaps it was the guitar that made chuck a god?

or maybe god decided to take the form of a human and shred our minds away

  • @Thirdeyechakra he invented taht thing THATS WHY other guitarists NEARLY play like a god or like CHUCK " GUITAR GOD" Shuldiner

  • @Thirdeyechakra Sorry mate, but that particular solo at 4:01 is by Paul Masvidal.

  • @Thirdeyechakra

actually the first solo there is by paul masvidal ;D Chuck comes in at 4:20

  • @pommijuku I was refering to the green pick behind the strings on his stealth in the picture and his God-Smiting guitar skills in general, but thanks for saying who played that part :)

  • @pommijuku, hahaha, 4:20, chuck would have loved that :p

  • @pommijuku no,the first solo is Chuck, the second most robotic sound solo is Paul.

  • @Thirdeyechakra he didn`t need no pick...xD he was a god

  • Thanks to WMG, I can't use these songs for my youtube vids w/out getting the audio muted!! FUCK YOU WMG!!!!!!!!!!

  • Upload a video. Try to dispute the objection with this:

  • @ sickmetalvideos. Well what about the people who use the audio clip to put on top of their cover videos. And yet they still get they're videos muted or taken off. Section 107 of the copyright act 1976 my ass. Chuck Schuldiner would not be at all pleased at what filthy and unholy corporation WMG is. And if you still can't see or realize that, well then there's no hope me or anyone else try to get you to realize that

  • Chuck is not dead. Chuck is immortal

  • @MajkeTiTvoje As long and ppl keep listening to Death Chuck lives on

  • @MajkeTiTvoje Chuck is not dead..? Chuck IS DEATH. =O

  • @MajkeTiTvoje he hath become his title.

  • @MajkeTiTvoje Hmmm, very interesting theory....

I have heard of another immortal chuck... they say he cant be killed..... he goes by the name of Norris... Chuck Norris.

must be the same guy huh?

  • @Aliofdeath i hate Chuck Norris jokes

  • @MajkeTiTvoje then you hate chuck schuldiner jokes?

  • @Aliofdeath lour logics is weird

  • @Aliofdeath Chuck Schuldiner is the best Chuck ever. Chuck Norris would surrender to Chuck Schuldiner because Chuck can't beat Chuck in a Chuck fight because Chuck Chucks all who get in Chucks Chuckular way.

    End of story.

  • @6Death6By6Metal your wrong, chuck cant surrender to himself! that would create a total paradox where the universe would turn in on its self and only the tuneing of all standard guitar strings will be heard.

  • @Aliofdeath

    Ah! This is true.

Yes, yes! Thank you for pointing out the errors in my Chuck-losophy!

  • I got this record signed in Power Cuts, Manchester, UK on 4th Feb '92. One of Chuck's crew had bought a copy of a teeny mag, Just Seventeen which had an article about satanism in metal, citing Death and the evil "Chuck Shuldinger". Chuck was pissed off and told the guy to write to the mag, saying, "Yeah, really let loose on that - they could at least have spelt my fucking name right!". That night they played at the Manchester International II with Loudblast and Carcass, who replaced Pestilence.

  • por chuck r.i.p :(

  • You know it's a badass album when you can make a longer than average song out of the solos alone.

  • I own this CD. Its one of my Favorites.

    RIP CHUCK!!!

  • secret face has the best solo in my opinion

  • Paul Masvidal there from cynic! Though Chuck probably wrote his leads.......

  • What makes you think Chuck wrote his leads? If you listen you can clearly hear what's a Chuck solo and what's a Paul solo and I can tell you with certainty that Chuck did not write his leads. Listen to Cynic's Focus and you can see that Masvidal doesn't need help writing solos.

  • I own that CD as well. I do know that Paul is without a doubt a great guitarist and wrote his own stuff on Human, I just think Chucks Ego (Albeit good) influenced what Paul wanted to do....Agreed? Know what I mean?

  • Yes, I'm sure Chuck gave his thoughts about the solos and all, but from what I've heard they (Reinert and Masvidal) were artistically quite free with this album.

  • bravo to Chuck and the other members as well as the bass solo by DiGiorgio

  • Lack of Comprehesion, See Through Dreams, Cosmic Sea!!!

  • 2:30 This is the most brutal death metal solo ever written! \m/ HAIL CHUCK.

  • Repetition creates the artists style

  • I love how passionate Chuck's solos sound, but (I don't want to offend anybody), has anyone esle apart from me realised that Chuck repeated in lots of solos a sort of phrase?Of course, it is obious that artists can't avoid repeating something, What I mean, is that Chuck really liked the phrase at 0:53-0:54. It is not the first time i hear that sonority in one of his solos.

  • true true

  • that's his signature

  • on that note, compare 1:02 to 3:06 of "Spirit Crusher"

  • bullshit, mate. He was kinda influencial. Noone of his solos is simillar to each other but for sure has his own style prints.

  • That's pretty much some of his signature techniques. You'll find a lot of artists have their own signature techniques.

For instance if you listen to a lot of Dave Mustaine's solos, in a good chunk of them he uses a lot the same pentatonic lick when he's playing fast in some songs.

  • Also I just want to point out that's not a jab at Dave Mustaine at all. Kirk Hammett, Alexi Laiho, and a lot of other guitarists have noticeable signatures they stamp on some of their solos.

  • fabuloso

  • classical

  • Love this album, my favorite Death album and in my top 3 albums overall.

  • great tone

  • Human has a sick sound

  • is amazing

  • Amazing...

    brilliant solos

  • Chuck Schuldiner, rest in peace! You are the greatest Death Metal guitarist because I know you are playing and shredding like crazy in Heaven!

  • make a video and show us otherwise shut up

  • I am going to go against the flow... And say that, I prefer Leprosy and Scream Bloody Gore before the later stuff... I do not know why really, since everything with Death is great. And my favorite solo would be the ones in Zombie Ritual!

  • Those used to be my favorites before I heard control denied and listend to Human - the last recordings chuck did for Control Denied I know of in detail . I honestly dont have a favorite anymore every record is special in its own way I just tend to listen to different albums during different moods and situations ya know ?

  • i say both ITP and Human had awesome solos , I prefer the Human line up cuz shit fuckin Paul Masvidal Baby ! but ITP did kick ass hardbody still dont know which to choose better

  • death metal's greatest guitarist in my opinion

    R.I.P Chuck Schuldiner

  • chuck dint have formal music lessons, he found playing by ear better, hows that for insparational

  • The harmony stuff after about 5:35 is just badass and sick as hell. Does anyone know specifically what he used to do that? Makes me want to break my whammy pedal out and start screwing around with the harmony settings right now, lol. I'd think that was what he used, and maybe he did, but then there's the little pitch shift with delay/reverb at 6:10 so it makes me think maybe an eventide or something that was in the studio was used to achieve it...IDK.

  • Sounds like Flange and Phaser pedal maybe

  • Yeah, could be. Whatever it is, it sounds awesome.

  • dude somone was tryin to tell me chuck has no talent....and the dude likes hardcore music..and blink 182..i was like wtf!!r u retarded..i mean he was pretty good at lead and a great music composer

  • I never saw chuck PLAY drums but he wrote everything. His music is HIS STYLE. He was an artist you dont like him or you love him.

  • dude i know exactly what u mean..but chuck was a very great music composer i give him props..even though the music was intense the kept it together..theyre first album was good..but they just got better and better throughout the years..but like all the stuff on the sound of perservernce album was great music composin..alot of tempo changes..its not like whole lot chuggin..the riffs just fell into place lots of harmonies n stuff and there were doin there own thing

  • He was a modern day composer dude. He wrote literally ALL of the music, then let the other band members use that as a basis, to make changes of their own. He was a fucking musical god in my opinion. Whoever told you that has NO knowledge of music at all, just another ass trying to put us down. Probably because he's jealous of Chuck... seriously alot of people are like that lol

  • yes man exactly i mean ive been really tryin to break down there music and u can really see how much they progressed with there style like before like scream bloody gore they were like yea well play hella fast shred a solo and growl and later chuck was like im gunna bust out some perfect melodies and sweet as melodic solos...haha yea but gatta love death...1st death metal band i ever liked..metalcore scene FUCKED EVERYTHING UP..it gave me false ideas to find good metal..haha

  • Yeah lol they screwed it all up... kids my age don't even give a shit about the history behind the music they listen to. Its pretty sad

  • yea dude same here...at my school its the wanna be scene metalcore kids and then the grindcore metalcore kids...and honostly that music doesnt have any qualties in it besides rythem but the rythems arent even good haha..i mean all the good technical bands are hidden like gojira death meshuggah (not really) the thing with meshuggah and gojira are there timings like there off its cool and it can get technical

  • Thanks for the post! R.I.P. Chuck!

  • PAUL MASVIDAL KIDS

  • It's hard to say which album is better...Human or Symbolic.

  • HUMAN ALL THE WAY BRO!!!!

  • both of them are fuckin ´ awesome man,

chuck schuldiner was a mastermind of death metal ! just hear his riffs thats all you need to explain!

  • human is f*ckin awesome
