I've gotta say, Jerry and William's guitars sound so good together in this song. Easily the best guitar riff of the past, I don't know, 10 years. Wouldn't be the same without both parts too.

Duvall has some pipes on him, so he should have his mic turned up a little louder. You can tell how quiet his guitar is whenever Cantrell goes into the solo. It's pretty quiet.

@cfsvillanueva sorry to break it to ya but jerry took laynes spot and duvall is back-up singer/back-up guitars/dancer. AIC was once praised by ALL rock/metal fans and now the band is getting an all time high of bad criticism. the reason we ppl have trouble moving on is becuz WE listened to layne and jerry, not jerry and sometimes fairy dancing duvall. whats the point in asking why we feel the way we do when its pretty dam clear!

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Layne been dead for a little over 8 years now? Fuck's sake. It's in the past. Sure he was a great singer, but drop your cocks gentlemen: HE'S NOT GOING TO SING ANOTHER SONG. EVER. Be happy that Jerry and company had the balls to continue Alice in Chains.

Alice has been my favorite band since high school so I was a little skeptical about this new lead singer. However, I saw them live last week, and they put on one hell of a show. Props to Duvall, I love and miss Layne, but hey, I'm glad Jerry and the crew are making music again.

Their new stuff is good... just He cant sing Man in the Box... for the of Laynes Reputation for the love of GOD! don't sing it, he can't pull it off, not now. and i think if the band shouldnt play it properly no one should. the only singer i heard sing LIKE Layne for that song is Sully erna. But he's good at the other sings i heard. Hope they keep making songs like this, and dont change their style just cause a singer. Rather them die themselves then live as something else

Layne was great, so is William. He also adds another dimension - he's outgoing, is healthy to do shows, and can play as well to fill out the sound.

You know I'll probably get some douche yelling at me for this comment. BUT, I think DuVall is a good decision. At first it was weird and I didn't like it but then I realized that he respects Layne and sings very very well. Great job William!

Anybody who doubts William DuVall has obviously never seen him live like I have. Go see them live, then come back and try to tell me that he isn't the best fit that AiC could have EVER found. He isn't "replacing" Layne, he is pushing the band forward, which is desperately what it needed. Will kicks ASS, and so does Alice in Chains!!

I usually hate bands once they replace their original lead singers...but this is one exception. Alice in Chains still has the Alice in Chains sound, in my opinion. I dig this song as well as "Your Decision". I know a lot of people don't, but I don't really care. That's my two cents.

@irulehyrule2 I totally agree! Been an AIC fan since it's inception. I was gutted when Layne died, but this album is awsome! I saw them live last month and I was totally impressed by Duvall. He doesn't sound like Layne but thats why I think it works. Your Decision is a great song!

I agree with you.. I was a bit hesitant on seeing someone else.. but they still sound very good.. they still have that Twang sound. and I also love this song.. as well as Your Decision. (which I feel is their best new song so far). I saw them 2x last year.. hope they come out again in 2011.. Small venues..

Fuck the nay-sayers! Jerry has been grooming William for this role for years now! And Jerry sings more than half the damn album anyways - which is freakin' phenomenal! So I'm sick of hearing the shit talking! Yes Layne is irreplaceable and there can only be ONE lane, but hell, half the people bitching probably can't tell the difference between an AC/DC song sung by Bon Scott or Brian Johnson, so shut it!
