On Tuesday, July 28, Mr. J, a representative of CLEC, presented the Novato City Council with an ordinance that requires the City and contractors with the City to use E-Verify to check the work eligibility of all new employees. Mr. J informed the Council that if they do not adopt CLECs ordinance, or something similar to it, CLEC would launch a citizens initiative to put the ordinance before the Novato voters on the November 2, 2010 ballot. clecnovato(dot)com
