  • I made this tonight. It was very good. We actually used turkey bacon. The bacon was more chewy than crunchy. I don't think that I'll do that again. Thanks Betty for the great recipe.

  • Yum! I'm gonna make this today.

  • You have provided an irresistible meal option for tomorrow's dinner! Thanks!

  • Hi Betty. I was wondering if you had a quick tip video where you show how you make your bacon? That would be a great tip! Would also love your home cleaning tips if you thought of expanding Bettyskitchen! :o) You have a beautiful home, and I love your videos.

  • @ancain61910 I have a video on Baked Bacon and Super Scrambled Eggs, where I explain my method of preparing bacon for the freezer, and then thawing it out for use at any time.

  • That looks wonderful, Betty. I'm going to try this recipe. I live on a disability pension, so budget friendly recipes are ALWAYS appreciated. Good life and good health.

  • @MonkeyManBlues Hi Matt! Thanks for your wonderful comment! I have a lot of recipes that economical; some great ones are Parmesan Chicken and Wild Rice, Swiss Cheese Chicken Casserole, White Bean Chicken Chili, Vegetable Chili, Ritz Cracker Chicken Nuggets, Roast Turkey Legs--just to name a few!

    --Betty :)

  • is the paprica important in the recipe?

  • @Dinghus100 Actually, it is a traditional part of the recipe, but the mixture will still be good without it.

    --Betty :)

  • Can i sbstitute yogurt for sour cream?

  • @kirinofy Yes, the flavor won't be as tangy, but yogurt is an appropriate substitution and it will be very good!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, I really like the fact that your recipes comes in like a package: Main dish, side dish, dessert and a drink. It REALLY helps me a lot because sometimes, I don't even know what to pair a dish to lol. I love you!

  • @laurysocheerful Thanks so much! I've gotten away from that format; I should go back and do complete meals.

  • Thank you sooo much! Beef Stroganoff is one of my favorite meals but being on a tight budget, high-end cuts of beef and fancy ingredients are out of the question, not to mention I have a 4-year-old to contend with. It looks quick and inexpensive.. perfect for me! I can't wait to make this for dinner tomorrow!

  • @trancestimuli I hope you enjoy the Beef Stroganoff. I have several soups and casseroles that are budget and time friendly in bettyskitchen.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Wow your husband is a lucky man! Your beautiful and you can cook. I cook for my family also, Thanks alot for the recipes!

  • @ideagirlconsulting That sounds wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • I had to use onion powder in place of the onion since my son doesn't like onions. Could you do a recipe for stroganoff using the hormel beef chunks? I bet that would be really good too, but I would prefer a recipe to go by. BTW...kids and hubby loved this!! Thanks Betty! =)

  • @lakegirl645 Thanks for your sweet comment and great feedback! I will give some thought to doing strorganoff with Hormel beef.

    --Betty :)

  • ...and it's a childhood favorite!!! I'm making it tonight, trying to remember how my grandmother and mother made it. I've got the lipton onion soup mix (like they did), ground turkey (instead of beef), and sour cream. But I can't remember how much water. Lol

  • I wish to thank you so much in your help in this matte busizz4me.info

  • Hey Betty =) .. I use lots of ground turkey with some of the dishes that can have hamburger.. Everything always comes out with the same texture, and is so very healthy ...Thanks a lot , Betty ..Take care ..Kimberley

  • Add a couple tbs of Worchestershire sauce! This recipe is made for it.!

  • i tried this recipe and it was fantastic! my whole family loved it. thanks Betty!

  • @joeypsykosis Thanks for your wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • this looks sooooooo good! but im the only one in my family that likes onion...is there anything else I can substitute it for?...or can i just leave it out and it will still taste good?

  • @thedonut214 You may just omit the onion, and it will be very good!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks very good. Gonna try next days off.

  • This was a very informative video and I plan on making this soon. As a suggestion to you, if you mention foods or products in your videos that you have already made or used perhaps you can put links to those videos in the info bar so that people can quickly find and reference those items.

  • @Biggz1982 Thanks for your suggestion!

    --Betty :)

  • You're a great cook!

  • salt is supposed to prevent over-boiling of noodles, so if the olive oil does that as well, you'd only need one, not both.

But this looks like something my dad would love to eat. :D Thanks.

  • Making this now ....Hope it's fine without bacon forgot to get that... Will let you know how it turns out.. Thx Betty !

  • Hubby loved this recipe .. Making the Lazy mans lasagna for dinner tonight.... Thanks again Betty !

  • I'm going t make this tonight, it looks delish. I'm substituting the canned soup for some easy homemade cream of mushroom soup. And, I'm going to use less meat cause my hubby is suppose to stay away from too much red meat. Thanks for always posting such fabulous and easy to make dishes!

  • THAT LOOKS TOO GOOD!!!

I need to find a sub for the cream of mushroom soup because I hate mushrooms. Other than that, your food looks amazing! Thumbs Up!

  • @SpankRamen2 Thanks! You csan use chicken soup, celery soup, or any cream soup in place of the mushroom soup!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty, We are having this "your way" tomorrow, it looks great! I did just want to share with you that often when I make a pot roast and have a heap of the rich brown gravy left, I freeze it and instead of using soup, I make this same recipe using the brown gravy. Saves waste and tastes good. Thanks or another great recipe, Betty.

  • I'm not a cook, so I looked something up to cook, MY KIDS LOVED THIS!!!! Thank You!

  • Betty,

I adore you and all your wonderful recipes.Thank You to Rick as well for all his wonderful help and time he's put into this to assure we all get a tad bit chunkier,,(giggels)... My son will not eat onions however we all know that adding onion makes everything yummier..What could I do to add flavoring without adding the onions?..Thank-You and big hugs to both of you.. <3,Angie

  • Hi Angie,

You could use onion powder; that would provide the taste and there would be no obvious chunks of onion. If it's the taste of onion that you need to omit, you might experiment with some other seasonings. This one would be good with some garlic powder. Parsley will go with just about anything, and sage is great for poultry dishes. You don't have to miss out on flavor just because you omit the onions! Thanks for your sweet comment and for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • @nkr1695

You could also use purple onions instead of yellow or white ones.

They're have a lot more nutrients; and taste a lot better as well.

Make sure you cook them until they're compely soft, before you serve them.

I used to hate onions are a kid, and this worked for me.

I still hate raw onions, but I love purple onions if they're soft (for example, if they've been grilled or fried).

  • This is definitely on my list of meals for the week. Thank you for the video!

  • You are welcome for the video! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • YOUR A GENIUS now im hungry :(

  • Thanks! If you can get the ingredients, this is *very* quick and easy to make! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • This was so easy and very tasty! My husband's co-workers were jealous when he took it in to re-heat. :) I will definitely make this again. Thank you so much!

  • I am so flattered that you have tried so many of my recipes, and that you and your husband like them! Thanks you so much for all the great feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • Yes, you will be fine substituting ground turkey for the ground beef. Just follow the rest of the instructions. It will be great! Good idea for everyone!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks very good. Wife got some paprika at a nearby Armenian store a while back, that we don' t know what to do with much, so this is a good recipe for using it.

In your info the ingredients list says 1/4 tsp paprika, but the directions mention 1/2 tsp. Even 1/2 tsp seems like such a small amount as the stuff seems pretty mild. I'll go with 1/2 as I don't think I could taste 1/4 !

Will give this a try thanks.

  • Thanks for noticing the discrepancy! I will change that to 1/2 teaspoon, which is the correct amount!

Thanks for the alert! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks Betty!! This looks so great...I'm going to make it for Sunday dinner for the in-laws! By the way...i love your necklace!

  • Thanks very much! Thanks for viewing and commenting (and trying!).

    --Betty :)

  • Oh Dayum, that dish look delicious I'm going to make that tomorrow for dinner! Thanks in advance!

  • I'm glad you like the looks of it! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • can you add worchestershire sauce? if so, how much would you add?

  • Yes, actually that would be a great idea, because it would make it browner and more appealing--also tastier! I would add about 1 tablespoon. Thanks for the idea!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for the feedback! I think this recipe will popular with a lot of people!

    --Betty :)

  • o dang this is good i'll try this

  • That's great! I hope you enjoy it!!!

    --Betty :)

  • when you cook a large portion like that do you eat it later as a left over? i love this video. looks so good.

  • We usually eat it for the meal it was planned for--breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If there is a lot left over, we freeze it, if it freezes well. If not, we refrigerate it, and eat it in a couple of days. As you might imagine, we have a lot of food available all the time!

    --Betty :)

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Can't really say much more than that! =]

  • Thank you! That is a wonderful comment!

    --Betty :)

  • This sure does look tasty!! I, too, have never made this with bacon but it seems to be a very pleasant addition that I will certainly try! Thanks Betty! =)

  • The bacon adds some flavor; of course, it can be omitted if anyone doesn't like it or if it's too much trouble. The stroganoff is still good!

    --Betty :)

  • Boy you sure do have good taste!

  • Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • etty love the china what is the pattern called please?? thanks!!

  • Hi! I just looked the underside of the china. It doesn't have a pattern name there. It is antique Meito china, and it says "Made in Japan" and is signed with 2 initials. I bought it years ago at an antique shop, and that's all I know about it! Thanks for your interest!

    --Betty :)

  • I join the club of folks who think the bacon is a nice addition. I bet kids would like this even better with that, too. I also like the rotini idea; egg noodles get so dry so fast! Good show!

  • Thanks, Patsy! I thought I would post this simple beef stroganoff now, but I have another beef stroganoff that may be a bigger hit--I will be posting it in the next few weeks! Thanks for your comments!

    --Betty :)

  • Wow, this one I am definitely trying!

  • Thanks, Matt! (Sorry, I had to end my letter abruptly the other day. I have more to say.) Have a terrific day, my very good friend!

    --Betty :)

  • This brings back so many memories of my mom making this for me growing up. Never thought about adding bacon, so I will try that next time. In the mean time I am going to watch some more of your videos. Jeanie :)

P.S. Her name was Betty also.

  • Hi Jeanie,

I'm glad this brought back memories of your mom. A lot of the recipes I post are recipes that I made with my mom many, many years ago. Thanks four your sweet comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for your sweet comment! I *love* sharing my recipes with people like you! You are a great friend!

    --Betty :)

  • In all my years of cooking, I have never seen bacon added to Stroganoff. I am going to make this because....really...how bad could it be? ; ) My husband will love the added bacon! (Me too)

    Thanks for the recipe!

    Cindi

  • I thought the bacon added a little extra flavor, and with it crisp, it didn't add a lot of fat. You can leave it out, if you prefer! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Your the best Betty. I will be cooking this recipe. Thank you.

  • Thanks! It is a wonderful recipe--quick and easy and tastes good!

    --Betty :)
