It is also not the first 9 sec GTR with an automatic gear box, which makes you wrong. GTR's have been around since the 60's, and tuners have loved them just as long.

For example, Topspeed Motorsports used it to destroy their competition in this year's One Lap of America - winning ALL 9 road course events and drag event. Because it ran and can break R35 records in the 1/4 mile and 1 mile doesn't take away from its handling ability. It makes it all that more versatile.

I think you will find that a World first 9 second pass for the GTR is well gone like in 1990.

One guy down here in New Zealand has run a mid 7 second pass in his R32 GTR.

Having a 9.90 daily driven street car is much more exciting that having a 9.90 sprot bike. A ZX-14 is supposed to be FAST. A 3800.lb car that is powered by a (factory) Twin Turbo V-6 isn't supposed to go 9.90. It's a engineering marvel through tuning & physics that they got that car to hit 9.90. The most impressive thing about this video is, that car isn't even maxed out yet.

Here's the thing about technology: The cheaper the better. It's not that hard to make 1000hp cars that go really fast if you have enough money. If you can produce a car that's almost as fast and equally well built/reliable for a fraction of the cost, then you've won the technology war. @similaritiesendhere You seem to not remember that the r32 Skyline Gt-R was a different car that was discontinued, this is a replacement. It does not have an 2.6lt rb26DETT engine like in the past, it has a 3.8lt VR38DETT. So this may very well in fact be the FIRST 9sec GT-R. Good Job AMS

2. torque

3. reliability

4. luxury

5. amazing transmission

5. safety (forget about the 1000 hp, the extra effort they put into the veyron to make it cope with high speeds is what defines the car)

Just to be clear the GTR's transmission is a manual transmission but it is controlled with hydraulics and computers. It is also a dual clutch system which makes the shifting so lightning quick.

I personally would love to have a conventional manual as well when it comes to my personal car but on the track you can't beat having these new automated manuals.

Manual transmissions basically have set gears in which they are selected when called upon. The GTR's transmission does not have either the planetary gears or the torque converter it's literally a manual transmission with the clutch and shifting controlled by hydraulics and the hydraulics are all controlled by a computer. Automatics are very inefficient. Just google it
