A legendary show that was ruined with a CRAPPY ASS remake! I wish Hollywood would stop ruining the classic stuff with crappy remakes and NEEDLESS revampings!
I cnat' beleive who my parets, especially my mom watch this series with teh V's are space lizard alien with human skin, and the baby hybrid baby, the effects are good fro this time, but the 2009's version is better and i like and better and realsitci hsitroy, all have our times, soon watch the 20009 version, besides the 1984 version broadcast in TCM
I was probably 13 when I watched this V TV series. I did not miss a single episode. It was the greatest and the most scary shit I had ever seen to date. Watching it again now, I do not understand why I was so scared. Hehehehe. Nothing beats The Exorcist original.
@jminto88 If you can, go to Wal-Mart and you can buy both, the original miniseries and V the final battle... and watch them. They are far superior to todays version!! Yeah, the special effects are not as good, but the better content/story makes up for that so much!
@Yesterdays92 I'd wish people would give the new reimagined series a chance. After all they got Jane Badler as a reimagined Diana (the mother of Anna and grandmother of Lisa, who was the original queen of the V's). I mean after all we don't always get too many sci-fi TV series, especially on anything but the ScyFy channel. And there is official word that Marc Singer (the original Mike Donovan) is coming back in the 10th episode of this season -- although not as Mike
@sneezyize And perhaps we might get Faye Grant (Juliet) back if we get a new season of "V" on ABC. So. let's stop being naysayers and give this new series chance folks. I mean I loved the original "V" -- I remember watching it when I was 19 & 20 years old respectively and being very fond of the series -- but that doesn't mean I can't remain true to the original and love the new one as well.
@jminto88 I think the new V series today is a continuation of the storyline, with Diana's return to try her plan again. Not the same storyline, but a continuation of the original storyline.
@ClassicCartoonsGuy No, it isn't. It's a reimagining of the original "V" and "V: The Final Battle" miniseries. That's already been told by official sources and also the way it was designed. You can't always duplicate what has been in the past, too much has changed in the world since 1984. And this new Diana is a reimagined version of the original Diana -- actress Jane Badler has said that officially herself.
@sneezyize I know it's completely different. That's EXACTLY what I said. It's completely different because it's a sequel to what happens after "Final Battle." They've already done the first season of the new V, and are coming out with season 2. The first season of the new V ended with the sky turning blood-red, and Diana being angry because she's still not able to win.
Wow,man !! You recorded that as it used to be aired,on these evenings ! Like a travel back in time...the heartbeat at the very beginning, the music in the background when the guy comments...and most of all : the very last seconds=> that creepy "V final battle" theme that used to scare me to death as a child...definitely;these days are gone !
give it a chance. It's good to see V back on the air. The new version has most of the elements of the original. For me the only problem is that, as a series, it moves too slowly. At least the original show got to the point .
What a time warp. Wow. I was just 12 years old again, back during a time when we knew that seeing something on television was a one-time deal, so we were glued to the set, the promos, the "events" like this one, and we absorbed every detail. I haven't seen this promo in 25 years, yet I could almost mouth the voiceover's words. I love it.
The truth. Enough said

back in 1984 the special effects were really good for a tv series.
The remake does look cheap from time to time, for example anna eating the rat.

Narrated by the late and great Danny Dark.
He was the narrator for the original Halloween 1978 promos.
He promos for all three networks.
But, he is best known as the voice of Superman on The Superfriends. "Wrong again, Luthor!!"
