  • This is a real gem, but "Fire" live was a damn experience. Your soul jumped outta you for a second. It was awesome.

  • u can hear it on the fade out of boy

  • To me this is so much better than Fire, singing is better as well as the guitar

  • Hey

Can someone put the lyrics of this song here? I did not find them on the internet and I am not very good in English so I do not understand everything.

  • The lyrics are in the video description.

  • The 1982 Werchter Fire rendition on the October deluxe album is 'the best' rendition of Fire, - originally on the New Year's Day EP back in in 82/83. Blows Saturday Night out of the water.

  • I like this song better than fire actually. It sounds a bit more "rocky", balanced with what I believe to be better vocals. Also the bass is great.

  • I agree, found this gem on the iTunes October Deluxe version ... something about it, like it was better than Fire .. think its the simplicity of the drums in this version

  • Reading the booklet in the Deluxe remastered edition of Boy, this version was a song that U2 was working on but hadn't finished by the end of the Boy recording sessions. It would be later reworked into 'Fire' during the Boy tour and wound up on October.

I really like this version, the guitar riffs have a different almost haunting quality to them in comparison to Fire.

  • thanks for posting!!!!

  • this is the song that got me into U2 (well 'Fire' was), but I've never heard this version.

    Where did it come from?
